To be honest, this is probably the best writing piece I could come up with. This story will play a role in Ethernu's canon. I hope you enjoy.
“Don’t forget…” echoed a child’s voice.

“Who are you again?” asked a deeper, older voice.

“It’s me…”

“Who is me?”

“You said you wouldn’t forget, remember?”

“Did I?”

“It’s ok, I understand…”

“Understand what? No wait, don’t go! Who are you? What shouldn’t I forget?”

There was the sound of metallic bells begin ringing. A pair of blue and green eyes opened abruptly. A man sat up on his bed. His hand reached for the alarm clock’s metallic button. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes and got out of the bed.

“Another day, same dream…” The man muttered as he put on his daily attire.

The crimson scarf wrapped around the man's neck. A cap with a gold symbol rested on the man’s head. A white shirt peeked out from the unzipped, blue sweater.Though the morning sun peeped through his window, there were lakes of shadows on the man’s face.

He went to the bathroom where he brushed his teeth. His teeth were clean, but his mind was not. They were still clouded with questions about the meaning of the dream. It almost felt like a curse had been put upon him. No, it was a curse put on him

His steps were heavy, “Thud, thud, thud.” The sound echoed through the empty hallways of the ActaSanctorum base. He wasn’t tired, he assured himself. He was fully awake, aware, alert. It was something else that weighed him down. What it was, he could not find out. No matter how hard he tried.

He couldn’t shake the feeling of being followed. He felt their eyes watching. It wasn’t the gentle eyes of an angel, but it certainly wasn’t the sinister, cold eyes of a demon either. Every time he looked behind him, there was nothing, only his loyal and faithful shadow following him. He was paranoid, which was good during a stealth battle but not when it came to normal life.

“What even is normal anymore?” Ethernu pondered

“Perhaps some nice, warm tea will help me…”
He walked a bit more before coming to the elevator, it seemed inviting and would provide him comfort. However, Ethernu decided to walk down the stairs. Walking down to what seems like a doom to a small, timid child. He was no child, but he still couldn’t shake the feeling of being watched.

Nevertheless, he walked down the stairs to the kitchen area. “Thud, thud, thud…” Ethernu stopped mid-track, his eyes staring into a black white wall. He snapped out of this trance and put his hand on his forehead.

“I must be sick…”

He continued on, finding a seat at the empty table with a hot cup of tea. He sipped it. It did not give the soothing effect that he desired. Instead, it fed his paranoia even more. He spaced out again, only this time he heard the same voice he heard in his dream.

“Please, you need to come back.”

“Come back to where?” He said, almost in a whisper as if he would scare the away voice if he spoke to loud.

“Come back home.”

“This is my home…”

“Daddy, you promised.”

The last phrase echoed in in his head, seeming almost like an eternity.

“Hello, are you still there?”

There was no answer.

Still no answer.

Ethernu sighed, he was going insane. There was literally no one there except for him. As long as he remembered, he didn’t have a family, let alone a child. He began to question where if the voice did say the truth, and in fact, left someone dear to him behind. He concluded that the voices and the dreams were merely a virtual representation of his fear, and he wasn’t going to let that lead his actions.

After finishing his tea, he went outside the base and walked to his shop which was quite a distance away.

“Go away.” he murmured, “You’re nothing but an illusion…”

He entered his shop, walking a few steps into the musty air. He took a huge breath before exhaling out of his mouth. He looked around, he felt as if time froze. It seemed the lit shop was dimming before finally dissolving into nothingness.

“Please, you promised you would come back…”
