thanks .

That wasn't an improvement. Not at all.. sorry.

But.. you need to understand easing first. Work on a ball dropping.

After posting it and getting some c&c I suggest you start working on an actuall stickman.

A ball is the best start you can walk with.

yea, I was exxagurating, but i still say there is a small improvement..
But as saha sed, do a ball test...physics, easing, etc..

Ball's cant walk.
I know you've heard all this before, but easing. Easing is one of the top 2 problems you have. Try to ease things out more. I know i sound like a broken record, but you MUST ease. and move all the parts to the sticks. The sticks don't have 1 line for a backbone. Use ALL the joints. That way, you can help ease, AND combat stiffness at the same time. Thats hitting two birds with one "walking" ball, as Saha would say.

Just try to work on easing, start with a square, a ball, anything. Then move to more complex. Like a tripod or something. Thats a 3 legged leg. Once you've gotten the hang of that, head on to a person. You may look like a total dipshit, but hey. Some dickwads out there that skip straight to the person, they will never be as good as someone who does it from the beginning. They may get to a point faster, but they will reach that point, and stop. People who go from the beginning, they know how to improvise, because they have practiced with other things. The others havent.
So just work on easing, and stiffness. Then, we will see where you are at.

Yeah, he has a point, the 2nd paragraph.
My 1st animation that i posted on spp was arnd 120 frames, of pure...um...Damn, cant think of the word, but it did suck!

So then, I followed people's advice, such as pf0's. I did a ball test, and improved much much more.

Then, after arnd 3 months, I got to high beginner...lol, But then, through that month, I didnt improve at all...or at least a tiny tiny bit...
I startedd ivot all over again, with simple tests...and then, I got way better! and I even developed my own sorta style!!!

-End. ^.^

Thanks Rabstar.
I got the same sorta story.

Exept, i didn't start with the basics.
I started off with the defaults, and after a while, i would be erratic. I wouldn't do one thing, i would be all over the place.
I kept hitting plateaus, and would not get better for quite a period of time.
When i stopped pivot, i was High Intermediate.
But that took me one ****load of a time to get there.

When i got there, all my mentors, and friends, such as DoD and Pf0, left. I just ran out of inspiration. Don't run out. Pivot needs pivoteers!

Keep practicing, and one day, you might be one of the best.

Was taht last part at me? or Klassen? lol
But trust me, WE have a g huge surprise (by we, i mean, me, and some1 else...)
That, hopefully, shud bring the pivot back alive!...

I was thanking you for support.

Huh? Come again?
By the last part, I meant, Keep practicing, and you might be one of the best...

wow. go out for one night and i get a book about easing
not bad
ok.... so just look at some easing tutorials and start with things with like two legs?

10-13-2008, 09:54 AM
Either a ball, just moving right and left...I would do taht...
Here is my tut!

Coment on it if u want! ^^
