I want to do a small collab with two other people. Not many requirements except that you show me an animation or link me to your thread so I can see whether or not your style and skill would work well with mine and (when I get one) the other person's.

Don't worry, I'm not looking for expert quality, I'm just looking for compatibility and someone who can keep up. If you're at my skill level or better, though, that's great.

I'm going to be using Easytoon, naturally, but if you want to use Flash, you may. And that would make it look better, too. Only thing is, you'd have to use black and white if you were to animate in Flash.

So, if you're interested, link me to your work.

And here it is. The list.

I believe you and I were suppose to make a collab a while back. (right?)

Anyways I haven't been animating much, so I have nothing to show.
I'm hoping you remember some of my old works, obviously my collab part
will be better but you can use my old EZtoons as a frame of reference.

I'm going to start messing around with EZtoon again, it seems it was the
only program I could animate fullbody with.

Of course I remember you! We tried two collabs together, not one. Neither of them were finished because you and I were the only ones who contributed. :/

But of course I'd love to animate with you again.

Awww, what's up with my timing? Why wouldn't you be able to join?

I like your animations. I've seen them before and I think you'll do well, but I'm not sure you're ready to collaborate with me and Opted yet. That said, I'm willing to let you join if no one else is interested in this. Say three days?

Btw, this was half assed, I can do better when I take my time.

sorry newgen, I dont think you are prepared. The bad timing ogrilla for me is that I am in a contest already, but I think I may be able to. Plus, my other commitments other than the contest are doing drawings, which I can do at school. You can put me in if you think I am prepared. :)

Well, I'd like to see you do your best if you're trying to enter into this collab. But while your animations aren't as good as I'd want them to be, I think the greater problem is in the styles. Your style would obviously not work well with mine, much less Opted's.

cmk, if you have that much on your hands, I think it would be best if you didn't enter. I've been in your position before and it usually ends with you not being able to finish one of the things you started, and that ends up killing your motivation. :/

u-t, the more I think about it, the more I think this would be a great exercise for you. Your style and what I remember of Opted's style are somewhat similar. And you can do fullbody, which is fantastic. I'm very flexible in what I can do, what style I choose, etc. so I'll go with the flow, but I'm not sure about you and Opted yet. If you can show me a different animation or make a new one that shows different skills than in those other two animations, then I'll be more willing to let you in.

And, what topic will we be animating?

Just throwing out an idea, but I think animating superheroes would
be a pretty interesting idea.

Do you do any fullbody? We're not animating sticks.

OGrilla

Well, looks like the team is set then. Let's get to work figuring out what we'll be animating.

I was hoping for a fullbody animation, of course, so what have y'all done in it? Like what motions and specific animation techniques are y'all good at in fullbody?

Will this be like the easytoon place collabs?
(As in our parts directly transitions in to the next person's part.)

I have a feeling that would be easier to start off with, but might
fall apart if we don't have that kind of patience.

Anyways, in regards to your post I usually animate blank figures doing
fights. I try perspective usually for the first punch or so but forget to
incorporate it in to the rest of the anim and from there I kind of stop
animating. Otherwise, I tend to focus on facial expressions if there isn't
a lot of full-body movement going on.

I'm okay at effects/particles.

OGrilla

I was hoping to do it like that, yeah. And that would be fine if we transitioned often enough. Like animate a second or two each, not really a whole lot so it's smoother yet stranger to watch.

And for what you can animate well, I guess we can just make this an experimental work. It doesn't need to be our best quality, we just need to make it long.

Upps

I'm good with long animations, Particles, redrawing and mostly explosions.

OGrilla

Opted:Superheroes might be a good idea.

Can you guys think of any other characters or subjects to animate for this?

Rabstar

Superman?
Spiderman?
Is that what you mean? I can list a tonne of them...

Upps

elemental abilities. Like the avatar, or even something more original.
I'm thinking, each one chooses his weapons [1] powere and special attacs + appearance and start a plot.

OGrilla
10-24-2008, 03:32 PM
No, we're not doing a collab mania...

And Rabstar, thanks, but I can name plenty superheroes and comic characters myself. That's not what I was asking.

Avatar-style element "benders" would be cool, but it's overused. Perhaps we can take turns animating a fight between a few different characters with vastly different abilities? Such as someone who can control animals or lead them, like an aquaman on land, or beastmaster(if you can remember the 90's). Then he can fight a character who can teleport using shadows and then a new character who's a shapeshifter attacks, etc.

Other ideas are very welcome.

see?

We could animate one superhero for the whole thing, I thinking ironman
would be pretty cool.

Or maybe, we could all introduce a superhero on our first part and animate our chosen hero throughout the collab.

Perhaps the bender idea as well, I could go for anything anyways.

OGrilla

Sorry for the absence. My internet shut off for a bit.

Yes, let's animate one superhero. I don't want Ironman, though. Perhaps the Green Lantern or Thor?
