As of recently my usb has been copying files really slowly, and it's pissing me off.

To be more precise, it copies individual files fine, but it takes about a five second gap between each file's copying.

This is insanely annoying when I'm copying programs with a lot of 2kb .dat files, because it takes ridiculously and unnecessarily long.

It used to be fine though.

I've already tried reformatting it, and checking the drive for errors, and the USB isn't very old.

Anyone know anything I can try to fix this?

Well... You could always buy a new one.
Or go to the store where you bought it, and ask for a new one.

Is the usb port 2.0, or 1.0?

if its 1.0, thats probably the problem.

2.0.

And it's not just on my computer, any computer.

And no, I'm not getting a new one.

It could be a driver problem or the actual version of what ever on the flash drive its self

How full is the drive?
Did you ever participate in a porno clip?

Almost full, but I've tried removing everything and it didn't make a difference.

if its 1.0, thats probably the problem.

Especially since 1.0 wouldn't even interface properly.
You're thinking of 1.1

And since it's definetly the drive, I'd suggest giving the actual jack a good cleaning. A lot of times with my flash drive, stuff will slow down and when I look at the jack, it's full of dust and stuff.

Either that, or invest in floppys.

Get a new USB.

Solid state drives wear out over time as you use them which make transfers slower. Reformatting doesn't help either, it wears them out faster than tranfering a lot of files to and from it.
