I liked it's smoothness and everything, but it was just tweening the madness character, so it's not much.

it was not tweening. you have obviously never animated madness before.

it is ****ing hard to make it look good.

Nice job.

The character was nice and smooth, but what impressed me was the muzzle flash/smoke, as well as the art on the character.

A longer madness animation in the future?

Scarecrow

unlikely, i haven't got the time or patience to make a full length animation. if I do ever make a full length animation, it will be during my year break between year 12 and uni

You really should make a Madness tribute.

If you don't have the patience, then just animate for like 5-10 minutes per day.

5-10 minutes per day? I have done madness, and that would be about 2 frames after trial and error. :) There is so much you have to move in madness. So much that is going on.

Miccool

But wouldn't you have to move even more for stick figures... I mean you have more ligaments to move :\. But then again I have yet to try animating madness.

Also I liked the anim.. Nice and smooth with good easing...

Up the framerate, or something, it seems slow.

Can I please have the madness sprite, I wanna try it out. ^^^

Scarecrow

sticks are easy because you just redraw everything in ten seconds each frame. with this, you have to move every individual body part on every individual layer, bit by bit

the guys at mc.net want me to add to it, so I'll be updating this within the next few days, I'll be adding bad doodz and upping the framerate.

rabstar, i'll upload it at some point, but those are the only sprites, I don't have any other angles of it.

haha, drawing the character would be much harder.Well I respect this style, but dont say its ****ing hard, because its not as hard as drawing.

Very nice job. Smooth and well-eased.
It was good how you made the movements slightly floppy and swaying; very well done there.

It's a good animation, though the smoke particles could have lingered for waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay longer (unless you were trying to make them look madness-like)

good job

hey, I do fullbody myself, and I still find that madness takes longer. With fullbody I spend like 20 seconds on a frame for the sketch and with madness I spend all my time making sure each body part is individually eased, looking at follow-through and all this random crap I dont normally care about. (sometimes my fullbody can take 30 minutes per frame, but that is normally with very detailed drawings and it is normally just the first frame that takes that long)

well, I guess HARD is the wrong word. Long, annoying, and overrated are probably the right ones.

It's easier then animating sticks, seriously

Not properly.

You can animate them, WELL or SHIT.

I have tried madness stuff, Sticks are easier.

I can draw a new frame for a stick in 10-15 Seconds, For madness it takes about 45 seconds to set up a new frame.

Wtf

Lol, a skull.
I love those revolvers

Miccool
01-29-2009, 05:05 PM
Actually I don't redraw my sticks.. I just drag and drop.. So I actually do move every individual piece of each layer bit by bit. Hmm. This really makes me want to do madness. k,brb.

tomocles

lol, ya, line stick animation is pretty similar to madness. I guess if you are used to animating line, then sticks are way easier than madness, but for people like me, who depend on drawing to animate, it is harder to do madness.

animate part by part, layer by layer, drag/dropping using F6.

IMO it's alot easier to calculate anticipation and easing.

Wtf

Did anyone else actually noticed the skull in the smoke there?

Who cares what's easier, it looks great, and thats all that matters.

I do, it does, sorta.

Just think about it, what is more time consuming moving body parts, oooooooor redrawing body parts.
