I really like the first one.
The second is, meh.

I stopped focusing on the sticks movements, when the lightning shot out.

Also, don't tell me, I should add a head on the second and leave.
Its obviously unfinished so ignore the fact it doesn't have a head.

Wtf. That isn't lightning.
Lightning starts off kind of thick, about a lines size of 6 or 8, then it decreases in size by alot with added alpha and a dim glow. Lightning does not dissipate into particles or should be on the screen for more than 6 frames.

Well, its not really lightning more like just beams.
A beam is more in depth with a lot more particles, slower dissipation of the particles, more force in a charge up, and a unique shade of colors.

I suggest keeping it to basic movements before trying effects and elaborate scenery.

Lighning bolts don't have particles, should be just 1 or 2 frames of forked lines with some glow.

Lightning does not break apart, it's just a zap from 1 second and then it fades away, back into the clouds.

sparks have particles, and bolts just have changes in position/forks, indeed.
