I have never really practiced combos or actual fighting, so I might as well start now. Really sucky, and I switched my stick style, but whateva. :3

You mean frantic, kind of wacky and realy fast? Yeah, that's a big problem for me with the combos. I need to slow 'em down. Thanks!

A Thing to Know About Combos:
- It's a fluid string of attacks. Basically, a bunch of attacks that look like they connect because they're supposed to, not because they're forced to.

Your combos are too fast, as said before. Going by the logic I applied just now, the attacks shouldn't be that fast and continuous. Apply easing where needed, and find a way to connect another attack naturally. By naturally, I mean:

- Don't make the stick do an attack that would be considered extremely awkward to combo out of, or one that is too long to combo out of.

Although this is stick animation we're talking about, learn basic combos first, applying realism and all that jazz. When you find that you can take on small, realistic combos, push your limit by say, adding more hits, making complicated combos, and eventually adding some twists so that it doesn't seem too far-fetched, yet it's still totally badass.

Now those are some good crits. Haven't had those type of crits since Miphisto came to one of my threads when I was a beginner. :D

I understand what you are staying, and I will definitely take heed. Thanks!

Hey Alcaknight. You've improved since last time I saw your work. You're doing good.

Suggested animation practice:
Make it a lower fps (10-14).
Note: make all of this VERY slow. your hits are like 3 per second in your 1st combo, make it 1 every 2 seconds. Slomo. In these frames focus ****ing hard on the joints and physics. If you make it clean you should have a good thing going. It takes a long time but animation is work!
-Make a guy REACTING to a fight combo. One would react with force inflicted but not flying from even a hard normal human punch. Have him be hit about 10 times. Hit in the head, legs, torso, etc.
-Afterwards animate the guy attacking. Be creative but logical with your choreography. Plan it out AFTER you animate the guy who reacted.
-If you made it slow (like 2 hits per second) then up the framerate to 20 or so. It would look smoother and a bit sped up in physics (but whatever).

Thats what I suggest you do. Theoretically it would help. I think I'd do this had I the time or the will to practice stick combos. I haven't tried this. Yet. :P

Keep improving, ****er!

There I actually meant 1 hit per 2 seconds.

Good luck!

I think your problem in combos isn't the speed but the fact that you should put moves in it. Not weird limp swingies.
