I haven't posted in the flash section in awhile so I'm posting some of my latest crap, some of its nearly a month old and I've already spotted some problems and started to improve on them myself.

A 24 frame run cycle at 48 FPS. Smoothest run and highest FPS I think I've ever done that I can remember. I noticed that the front leg tends to sort of "snap" into a straight position before hitting the ground.

This was mainly a test of movements with a rifle sized weapon. Like how to get from pose to pose. I originally intended to add more frames in between like I usually do but I learned what I wanted to and let it be. Its sort of choppy, and his legs seem to move to fast for standing up.

This was a test for me new sniper. I REALLY hate the way the yellow guy falls down in this one, his body even expands while hes in mid air, watch the length he has while hes running then watch the length he has when he finally hits the ground. The blood was also different and I don't like it much either. But this is old and I'm working on those problems. The gun being held by the yellow guy was made by Dudeman.


The only one that is recent is my 24 frame run cycle. Everything else is about a month old and I've already started work on the major problems in them. Don't rank me just tell me what to improve on ^_^

First flash: Really smooth, nice loop. the only thing that is bad that he wobbles just a bit, that is noticeable.

Second flash: It's a bit choppy like you said lol. Other than that good work.

Third flash: Nicely drawn, good detail. Nothing wrong here :/

Fourth flash: Bad recoil, there should be more force into the shot as this is a big powerful gun. When he fell the resized hugely(You already commented on that yourself, lol.) The blood was bad, put more particles into it and make the blood stay in the air for a longer time then dropping on the ground/disappearing. I also suggest putting sounds into those animations, it boosts it's professionalism.

1st Flash; Where does he wobble at? I sort of see it on the body but I can't really see it anywhere else... -_-

4th Flash; Yeah this one was by far the crappiest of the four. Its also pretty old. I really hate it. I've done more work with guns since then and I think the recoils fixed. But I need more work on blood and falling down when shot.

I loved the sniper rifle, Cheesy. Your animating and drawing skills are awesome, but the animations you make seem rushed. As this is focused mainly on your second animation; when the character brings down the rifle, it isn't eased. This could be rushed, but don't forget the easing. :D

Oh I see it now. Yeah I'm not worried about it, people can't usually pick up stuff like that when run loops are used in context. You can only see it because all thats in the animation IS the run, so teres nothing else to focus on. Good eye, though.

The second one is the oldest one I have here, and it was never completely finished. I usually add more frames in between and fix and flaws there might be in my already made animation. It looks rushed because it isn't 100% finished. The animation is there but it hasn't been touched up or smoothed out, making it look like I was rushing through it. It was a test so I didn't feel the need to finish it up after I learned what I wanted to.

I like tall sticks. No one complained about the long legs of OJ's [maker of Castle III] sticks...

Could you please upload to another host as well? .Swf Cabin does not work for me. And stop naming your stuff Crap >_<
Yeah, antiup was down when I tried to host, and swfup wouldn't load, and swfme never works -_- I'll rehost it on antiup if its back up.

And chances are that if you pull something from out of your ass that its going to be crap. Therefore I call all this stuff crap because I just pulled it out of my ass... =P

I suggest you try drawing a gun in flash with traces. Knowing how to apply the elements to a gun in this program is actually damn impressive. It's also hard to make up a realistic gun model when there are already set ones. He may as well just draw them by tracing the outline.

Me thinks to lean forward a bit more on the run for anticipation and realistic force of the step.

You try drawing good gun without tracing... Its ****ing hard and comes out pretty crappy. Traces are a normal part for guns, must gun packs are full of traced guns. You should try tracing a gun then tell me to draw my own, tracing is harder to get a good result out of than your think...

I suggest you try drawing a gun in flash with traces. Knowing how to apply the elements to a gun in this program is actually damn impressive. It's also hard to make up a realistic gun model when there are already set ones. He may as well just draw them by tracing the outline.

yeah, I suppose the run could look more real, but I don't want a perfectly real run, I like a little bit of cartoon in my characters. =P

I think the run is fine for now, its not a weak spot in my skill, I probably need more practice in effects. [like usual T_T]

The animation when the leg went straight was quite jerky, and the movement is just weird overall, but kudos on the animation at high fps.

The art is good, but tracing isnt a real art talent.

The gun on the yellow figure was oversized, the fall was really bad, the only thing I liked was the recoil from the sniper shot.

Thanks Apples, I'll work on those, and the gun wasn't meant to be art, I use them as weapons in animations. =P

OMG! I am so insulted by a random 3 year old attempting to swear and saying who knows what about someone pissing in the road and Newgrounds being violent. [which its not] and something about old friends. The lack of grammar is confusing combine that with swear words used mostly incorrectly and it makes this 3 year old look like an idiot. If some one who speaks 3yearoldinsultbadly-ese please translate this so I can respond correctly...

1. its probably how the front leg snaps straight. Thats the biggest thing wrong with it I can find...

2. Yeah, I probably could fix that with just a couple extra frames, but like I said before I never touched this one up...

4. Hes running forward and hes supposed to have been hit in the shoulder. That should making him fall forward because his body was already moving that way, and the bullet doesn't have enough kinetic energy due to its size to push him that far back. So he sort of spins when gets hit in the shoulder. If he got shot in the head his head might fall back a little because the body is top heavy and he would sort of be falling backwards while moving forwards. Probably landing on his neck...
