View Full Version : TF2 rocket launcher flashing bug

So, about an hour a go TF2 started playing up. The rocket launcher viewmodel keeps flashing intermittantly, and it's REALLY annoying. It doesn't do this to any other viewmodel. A couple of others judging from google have had the same problem since the buff banner was nerfed. I've defragmented and verified game cache, and I'm stuck with using the direct hit :/

Any help?

Also does it on sticky gun, haven't tried many others.

well they updated the game so certain servers restrict the viewmodel fov. try turning it down to 70 if you haven't already. though i think this restriction is one of the most ****ing retarded things valve has done. also, pics

My fov is always 70, but thanks for the help. And I can't really take a pic, it happens too fast.

Also, reinstalled the game and it still hasn't ****ing fixed it.

the game is trying to tell you to stop playing with an xbox 360 controller. duh.

in all srsness it might have something to do with your drivers, are you using the newest ones? and if you are, try going back to old ones.

Never mind guys, I've fixed it :)
The people on steam forums finally replied.

Basically it was a command in my config file. I thought of this at first, but I assumed when I reinstalled TF2 it had also deleted my config file. Alas, I was wrong. The command in there I had to change was:
cl_threaded_bone_setup
From 1 to 0.

Aparrently it doesn't like my multicore rendering...
