That guy in the blue hat looks might suspicious. I bet he's a rapscallion.

The walk would be ok if it had more frames and was on a higher frame rate. Never do a skateboarding animation though. You will inevitably be stiff.

i don't see the sense. how black stick without skate can walk behind the black guy with skate? why do he don't run?

2188

Instead of this:

He's saying that a guy walking normally wouldn't be able to keep up with a guy on a skateboard.

I made this animation boring so other people can tell me how to improve on it no sound improvements though.

JamMan

It's really hard to grasp what's happening because the "scenery" doesn't change. Also it's very very stiff, he doesn't move at all. Think about it, he would do at least a little adjustment to stay secure in flight, the air resistance would slow him down, he would bounce off the wall, etc. There is literally not a single thing you could animate in what's presumably around 10 frames.

JamMan
04-12-2010, 03:23 AM
there are 22 frames in it! how do you post animations with loads of frames in?

Is this any better?

2202

(25 frames now)

Patience. It is a necessary characteristic of an animator. Hence we leave all topics to mature for three hours before replying so that the trait is nurtured.

I'm kidding, there was no one on.

Basically, easing. You need more easing. You also need to look at how people actually move. It would be good if you posted in the beginners section too.

Zed

I have now merged these threads. The animations do not need to be given one thread each. Make one thread and update it if you're not going to post in the beginners section.

The walk looks like hes about to fall over, then gets back up...

JamMan
04-12-2010, 04:22 AM
So the kick should look like this:
2205

I added the crack for more excitement. I sped it up to 21 fps it was origanally 15 fps.

The world revolves around bananas, hamsters and hamster noodles!

JamMan

where is the beginners section is it that thing made by paperclip?

Yes. "Beginners Post Your Pivot Animations Here".

‹berschall
04-12-2010, 05:17 AM
The ground crack actually made the kick worse, since there's not even close the amount of power involved to make cracking the ground remotely understandable. Just saying, you need a better grasp of physics, forces and all.

JamMan
04-12-2010, 05:29 AM
Okay then is this any better?
2206

The world revolves around bananas, hamsters and hamster noodles!

Zed
04-12-2010, 05:40 AM
He needs to be constantly falling forwards after he lifts his leg up since he's off balance. You need to be trying to move every joint in every frame, otherwise it looks stiff.

JamMan
04-12-2010, 06:04 AM
Oh and some physics:

2207

any more improvements?

2209

Does this have enough force for a wall crack?

nope...u can at least make the left guy run and jump kick him...u really need to look at the tutorials...

‹berschall
04-12-2010, 07:43 AM
You really shouldn't spend your time with stuff like that. Animate walking cycles, running, punches, whatever, just to get a feel for fluid motions, easing and physics. Shit like the shoop da whoop bollocks won't help with any of that.
Also, there's an "Edit post" button that you can use to add stuff to your posts. That's a better choice than double posting.

Don't steal threads, especially not with a crappy anim like that.

Random animation of mine:

2224

enough power?

2225

an animation I like and one of my best so far:

The world revolves around bananas, hamsters and hamster noodles!

Scar
04-13-2010, 02:31 AM
umm...enough power but u have to work on your running

Zed
04-13-2010, 02:50 AM
The flip itself was nice, but you need to ease the anticipation and probably exaggerate it more.

JamMan
04-13-2010, 03:13 AM
I know I'm no good at running.

Is this any good?

2228

Is this backflip any better? One of my "good" animations:

u shud look at the tutorials!

Zed
04-13-2010, 03:32 AM
Actually, we don't have a good run tutorial. Trust me. I looked through all of them.

Scar
04-13-2010, 03:44 AM
so...he shud look at www.darkdemon.com !!

the people there are ELITES!

i think

Zed
04-13-2010, 04:16 AM
First of all, when I made the Tutorial Index I made a point of not only looking at SPP. Darkdemon has no good running tuts either. Secondly, it's darkdemon.org. Thirdly, you should never go there - it's a hellhole, and ranks are completely meaningless.

Oh, and fourthly, your sig is too big. Resize the animations down and put them next to each other please.

JamMan
04-13-2010, 07:28 AM
Is this any good?

Are there any good running tuts? Anywhere?

i think
Never ever ever ever ever eeeeeeeeeeeever post that link here again. We are not in association with darkdigmon, we will never be.

And not everyone there is elite, the majority are shit.

JamMan
04-13-2010, 08:17 AM
You posted the link too! Because you copied it and it works! Well it's takes you to the wrong place but who cares you posted the link! and also its Darkdemon not darkdigmon.

Why hasn't any one been on this thread in ages and posted?
FOR THE LAST TIME IS THIS RUNNING ANY
GOOD?

Look at the BOLD word and stare at it for 10-15 minutes and think. Think what that BOLD word is.

This is seriously the best thread ever.
The run is Ok, but you can't keep triple posting like you were doing before. My suggestion is to put all of these into your main post and have them there, or scrap this thread and make a new, more organized one. Or the beginners thread.

Zed
04-20-2010, 10:20 AM
This thread is quite old, and the bump was unnecessary, but I'm going to add it to the TOTY list and lock it to prevent editing, purely on the basis that he has copied and pasted a message into the bottom of all of his posts because he couldn't work out what a sig was.
