View Full Version : Doc's Practice anim 4 & 5

Ok, once again, only the fourth one. The reason why I keep posting the whole thing is because Im working on a file to get hawk to put me in inter in the Stickpage tournament. Do you guys think I could compete in that?
And CC, of course :D

Nice to see you animating Doc,
As for the animations, the smoothness is there, you are just missing some frames. Make sure that you drag out your attacks out after the action frame and slow it down getting ready for the next one which is basically the same as saying easing for your next attack. There is some anticipation but still lacks force.

Keep at it and soon enough you'll be in inter. It just takes time.

doc can you just make one thread for this? I mean you're just updating the same swf.

also tortuga that's not helpful at all.

Your arms seem to always be in the same position, which make the sticks look stiff. Try loosening them out a bit

also tortuga that's not helpful at all.

What wasn't helpful at all?

loljk, not really sure what i was thinking...

Awesome thanks everyone!
And ya, kitsune, i think im just gonna upload one at a time, instead of the whole file. I dont think it will get as many views otherwise

Alright, heres another one, a guy with a sword this time.
Should I still put all of this in one thread? Cuz I will if my anim-spamming is bothering anyone. But i figured since its not the collab, it would be ok.

I already suggested that you do this all in one thread. It floods the forums which can be problematic when you're so productive. You'll get just as many comments.

when you ease out of a fast motion like a sword swing by making the last 3-5 frames just slower, you're sapping all of the force out. Try to just get the sword to where it strikes quickly, and have a few smaller motioned frames afterward to have easing/cushioning/smoothing/whatever you call it these days.

Looks pretty good!

good, but when he makes the jump it looks a bit fast... but everything else is OK for me

04-20-2010, 12:47 PM
Ok, thanks for the CC guys! And Ill put it all in one thread.

04-27-2010, 06:49 AM
the jump was fast...

but i felt that there was suppose to be one or 2 more frames of easing on the ending...

oh and IF you want you can add particles when you slash =D

to me,the jump was a lil~ fast for me..oh and a lil bit more frames of easing before you jump...

and yes,the arms were at the same place which make the stick look stiff...
