i agree. I really like the context and scenery you added to make a constructed story. This is a perfectly competent animation idea. The acting's fucking wild. A lot of extreme actions that don't seem really warranted. You're also trying to make an animation about 2 characters, while making them stickfigures with faces. If you're going to tween everything you might as well just construct a fullbody character that has details about him that would help justify his actions- what if this guy was visibly insane and the other guy was a silly jokester? I wouldn't know just from looking because they're stickfigures, and the only thing that's characterized are the faces. You could also use some work on the expressions. In general it isn't too great of an idea to make personalities out of sticks, because I always thought sticks were meant for action, effects, movement study, and overall practice. You're making a character-driven production out of them, which is really strange. I mean of course there's examples of that all over, like killing spree or whatever else, but most of the people who go for that sort of thing are already informed about what to make in a fullbody, so they apply it to sticks to make their animation more interesting. Yours on the other hand is completely driven by character, and I never invest in or (no offense) care about stickfigure characters or what they're feeling.

Ok bro good to know, I didn't really wan't to make the green be "Crazy person" just a normal guy teasing an other. however, you're right about the expressions, but I'll have to disagree on the whole idea of "not giving stickman personalities". Although, yours is in fact an opinion. I started drawing stickman comic books when i was 7 years old, And i was able to really get attached to my characters, and kinda lived thru them, since my childhood was so rough... If people are able to identify with strange animated creatures due to their personalities, they sure as hell can with stickman. It is not the stickman's fault but my lack of skill, that I am so determine to Improve.

Anyway, to me.. Stickman are just an other race, not human. and I love them, I'm am not saying I don't do full-body animations as is required from my job. When ever I get the feeling of satisfaction, that my job with stickman is done, perhaps then i'll move on to focusing "more" on full bodies and 3D computer animations.

Thanks for the feedback, you took me back in time :)

alright well I can't relate to that, but in general people consider sticks just a simplified human being. Also a bit of advice: never get attached to anything you make. If you do then you won't accept critiques as easily, and you're less likely to make improvements. "It's okay that I didn't do that though. My IDEA keeps me from being wrong!" are the famous last words of a lot of people I've met.

Also if you're determined to improve there's a lot you can research. Richard williams book is all about mechanics that you can apply to sticks- fluent movement, expression, walks, form mechanics, etc. I can cnc any shorts you send me too.

Thanks a lot! I don't mind Critiques, I just expressed how I feel About stickfigures, doesn't really make me or you right or wrong. The real thing is that i have MUCH more things i need to improve on. :D, but no matter how good I get, there will be people who love my work and those who will hate it :) and im cool with that, is how the world is hahaha, i just hope i get more of the ones that love it hehehe

telling me how you feel about stickfigures isn't an answer to a critique though. I'm not saying your short is wrong, or my process is right, I'm just trying to assist your process by giving my point of view. I don't hate this or anything. I think you're a very competent animator with fucktons of potential, but try to take critiques more seriously I guess.

Gotcha - I will take certain aspects of your critique into action, like working on my expressions, and other basic stuff. But, I still want to keep experimenting with telling stories with my stickmen, I would really had hated if i would had animated this in fullbody, Stickmen violence is some what universally accepted, but how graphic heavy it would had been if it were full body would had been messy :P. I suppose there could be a debate on that - However, I will experiment with doing full-body productions, but I don't know if you would understand what i say next. "I just don't feel ready to let go of stickmen yet". I still feel certain limitations and holdbacks while i animate, when I feel I'm past this, "WATCH OUT" (George Lopez style) lol :D. Thanks so much, You always give me good advice however :D.

Not going to lie, the end got me haha.
It reminded me of when my friends and I went bowling a few weeks ago and I practically did the same thing.

As far as movements go, you couldve had more and made it a little bit longer. There isn't a problem with tweens or the fact that it is a stick figure animation...

Haha-- thanks guys. Hey Arch-Angel. is funny you should say that, The daughter and fiance of a business associate of mines told requested I did a bowling one with the same characters in a similar situation. I was given the storyboard for it, but I wont reveal it till is done, haven't started it to be honest.
