Please can someone clarify for me the mechanics in switching a miner who is mining to praying, and exhausting resource mines?

Am I correct to assume a miner with a 50% full bag who goes to prayer still keeps the gold 'in his bag' and if he goes back to mining his bag is half full, if he goes to garrison ge drops the gold into my resources?
If a returning miner is killed, his resources dont get to me, but are they lost from the total supply capacity left in the mine available to be mined before it is exhausted?

I have assumed I should kill his returning miners rather than a miner coming out for this reason.

I know it seems trivial, but in some long games it becomes an issue, and has a slight bearing on a strategy I'd like to try develop.

Thanks.

if i was the programmer, this is what would be reasonable:
gold mined never returns to gold patches
gold is retained when praying

it wouldnt be too hard to test half the stuff anyway

true, but why re-invent the wheel? Its not a shockingly radical question, if somebody has researched it already I can't see much point repeating the play-test.

Thnx for the respons :)
