I don't think a flying melee unit would work well....

Hi reader,

Water should be Ranged.
Fire should be Ranged.
Earth should be Ranged.
Air should be Ranged.

Water - Splash - Launches Water out of his/her hands.
Fire - Poison - Hands are flame throwers... literally.
Earth - Stun - Picks up the ground (Should not effect map) and throws it at enemies.
Air - Flying - Pushes the air at enemies, feet are like mini jets.

How the heck could they not be ranged?

I believe Earth could be melee. Fists of earth or something. Air is OBVIOUSLY flying though.

hey take a look at my thread of the centurions and elementals, i have a full set of them, centurions are a non magic race so no giants or magic or flight. and the elementals are played a bit differently

Perhaps...

Miner

(Fire) Fist man, bast enemy with fire fist (skill: fire blast, damage all guys in front) same tier to swordwrath and crawler
(Earth) Earth Golem, hit stuffs with his rocky hand same tier to spearton, juggerknight
(water) Assassin, can slip through stuffs like lipid same tier to shadowrath
(Ice) Ice mage, shoot icy bolts same tier to archidon, zombie
(Air) flying, shoot sonic waves same tier to albowtross/wingtons
(water) healer...
The element wizard, using all elements spells
(Plant) Forest giant, shoot leaves, can be poisonous


I guess crazyjay has his idea in his mind already lol, the stuffs above is just my thought

Wind opposite of Earth
Lightning opposite of Sound
Light opposite of Chaos

Since there is 9 units in the game, each of units have an element of their own.
While Miner was neutral(No Elements).

Chaos = darkness sice chaos empire and chaos element is kinda strange

For Earth, I suggest an Earth Giant and Ice I would suggest a freezing unit who does it better than fr0st.

Well if you didn't notice (CJ's Post on the Third Empire on the 2nd page describing some things, go check it out) the post, he said that there would only be 4 units, but you can combine them, like Earth + Fire = Lava.

4 units. Means NO MINER. The 4 units are all elements, and I don't think you combine elements to make miners...

Here's my suggestion (This is already copy-pasted many times)

Combination

Water + Earth= Nature/Ground
Water + Wind= Frost/Ice
Earth + Fire= Lava
Fire + Wind= Blaze
Fire + Water= Steam
Wind + Earth= Dust

Element Stats:

Positives:
Wind: Fast Movement and attack speed
Earth: High Life and Armor
Fire: Damage and splash/special damage
Water: Healing, buffs, and other special attributes.

Negatives:
Wind: Low health/No armor
Earth: Slow movement speed/attack speed
Fire: No special attributes
Water: No significance damage

Let's imagine dust shall we?
Earth+Wind= Dust

Low Health
Fast speed
Medium damage
Medium armor

So the mix combined the natural Wind's health, and Earth's armor.
It also combine the medium damage of Earth(Wind have lower damage) and Wind's fast movement speed.


Element Units:

Miner Golems (Earth Element)
Fire Spirit (Fire Element)
Water Elemental (Water Element)
Tornado (Wind Element)
Nature Ents (Water+Earth Element)
Lava Golem (Earth+Fire Element)
Dust Devil (Earth+Wind Element)
Blizzard Wind (Water+Wind element)
Roshan the Magus (Master of Elements)

I think that's all :p

Maybe since they're from the Earth they naturally gain gold. Sorta like they always have passive income.

A freeze effect would be cool. Maybe a little OP though. Perhaps an Ice effect would be more appropriate?


Maybe since they're from the Earth they naturally gain gold. Sorta like they always have passive income.

But then how would you harass their economy?

You use magikill/bombers and blow up the ground! That way the earth is too damaged to give them gold lol

I'm thinking...

Instead of Poison, the Fire Elemental will have something called "Flame" where it will set something on fire, and it's health will slowly drain away. It'd be a pretty nice animation too.

Umm... yeah. Wait! No, what puts out Poison? Garrison. Although that may set your castle on fire lol.

How about poison nullifies flames and vice versa! So you can't be hit with DOT with two things.

I think the poison unit will die when garrisoned XD.
