Hi reader,

Does anyone know how to Micro short ranged units? Well, with the exception of Swordwrath, Crawlers, Bombers, and Shadowrath. Short ranged units such as Speartons and Jugger Knights. How do you control them to make them unleash their full potential? Aiming at 1 unit, yes that's obvious but how do you move them?

There's not much skill in microing speartons/juggers. Well, with juggers at least there is quite a bit of skill in charge, but Speartons dont' really have a good offensive trait.

Point and click is pretty much it...and cycle hurt speartons out.

I always wondered this, but the only thing that comes to mind is targeting one unit specifically and cycling out hurt ones if the opponent is dumb enough to use the generic attack button.

I use the spearton to pass all other units to strike directly at the economy, forcing the enemy to go back into base.

If you have more than one spearton and both upgrades, it is possible (with good enough micro) to chain stun an enemy unit.

1. Put first spearton in shield wall.
2. While it's doing that, move the second spearton slightly in front of the first one.
3. Try to perform these two actions as close to concurrently as possible: use shield bash with the first spearton (press W), place the second spearton in shield wall mode (press Q), and move your next spearton to the front lines.

If you have enough speartons, it'll take so long to cycle through all of them that shield bash will cool down and *hypothetically*, with godlike micro, you can keep a single unit in stun lock.

I'd say cycling is about it. Generally striking the economy early with spears if that's what you're into is also an option.. During war if they don't set up a wall, and have giant massed, lure the giants out far, and send all your knights/spears at his statue. The giants are too slow, and without the giants in the battle you'll destroy his army and/or statue. Which ever comes first :)
