I just discovered Spriting tonight, when I stumbled upon one of my bookmarks which leads to a sprite-sheet website.
The character I used is Tera III a Sorcerer's summon from Ragnarok Online

I edited the sprite a bit too.

Enjoy, or not.

CnC? Sure.

Good thing I know a thing or two about sprite anims.
For first, anticipation is like stick figures, but you have to skew and ease in and out of the pose (the one before you punch). This adds the force for the punch yiu were gonna do. You should also do this when the guy disappeared from a blur. The blur means he was going quite fast, so add anticipation by skewing and easing before making the move

Thats pretty helpful. Although, I don't know what skewing means, do you mean the free-transform? Please elaborate more on this
