Q: Is your hybrid literally just Chance, with Zach's sword?
A: Yes and no. The idea was to get the sword in Chance's hands, but some changes were necessary in order to do that the way I wanted to. Chance is supposed to be the same Chance you (I) remember, and Incruentus more or less the same vampiric sword you (I) remember, but in order for them to mix- obviously something had to happen to Zach, and Chance had to wind up in a position where it would make sense for Incruentus to select him as its host. So I've moved the timeline forward a couple years, whipped up an ally / love interest for Chance, and had him "win" a battle with Zach. This meant the original Zach had to die, but also that he got to live a good long while (relatively speaking) before doing so. Similarly, we allow Chance's character arc to continue on to, past, and to be shaped by a pinnacle moment- his being chosen by a forgotten sword of Hades. All elements of either character were kept intact and allowed to progress to a point where they ultimately could have progressed regardless, and as of the creation of this event, have been allowed to progress. But to answer the original question- basically, yeah.
Q: Who is Ester Holloway, and are she and Chance dating?
A: At this stage in the story- which, remember, is several years after Chamel left it- is someone I'm pitching as Chance's sort of on again, off again ex. The idea is, sometime after Chamel stopped writing, Chance continued his habit of sleeping around, and eventually wound up meeting and taking a bit of a liking to a college girl- Ester. While she took a fancy to him as well, Ester wasn't always game to roll around in the sheets, and whereas Fox always had his battles, Ester had her studies and her internships. The two never really argued though, so long as Chance didn't get too pushy or wind up too battered and too bloody. That said of course, Chance did, as the Bloody Prince, have a habit of getting pushy and winding up battered and bloody, so Ester'd close herself off when that happened. Ester never got to burning down all the bridges though, so after he was chosen as Incruentus' host, she was one of the first people he knew to call. Together they've managed to appease the hungering sword (if not sate it) between her hustling to build up a small cache of blood bags, and Chance's occasional resort to killing in the ring. That said, all of it could collapse at any moment, and the two are hesitant to push the issue on romance, despite what feelings they do actually still have. You may see this come up in a story, or you may not- but the main idea here is that Chance and Ester watch out for one another. Not only because they love each other, though- but because if they don't, they're all dead. But if I can keep this going long enough, and in the way I'd eventually like to- you may start seeing parallels between Chance and Ester's relationship, which I'm testing, and his and Lucia's, as Chamel left it. In a parallel fashion to Lucia, Ester can't just walk out that door.
Q: Where do they live?
A: Chance typically crashes at Ester's apartment between battles and such, while she's usually out working and taking classes. Chance has invested all of his resources into enduring and overcoming his current predicament with minimal (or ideally, no further) loss of life, Ester having done the same. I've chosen to be rather vague with the location of the apartment / Ester's university for the moment, but we can assume it's in the U.K. still.
Q: Where does Chance keep his sword?
A: Sheathed at the hip when he's awake and walking around (unless he intends to kill) or sheathed and cradled next to him or atop him as he sleeps. At any given moment, waking or otherwise, Incruentus may call upon Chance for food. Due to this, Chance makes sure the blade is always on hand, always kept sheathed, lest it be used, and tries to have a bit of blood in store wherever he should happen to go. When sleeping, he or Ester may rig up a blood-filled IV so as not to excessively drain him, or compel him to violence should he wake.
Q: Are you making this canon?
A: Having it be on some level canon for me going forward isn't a possibility I've necessarily ruled out at this time, particularly as both Whitewood and Chamel's characters are ones I've had some level of interaction with in the past. Zach I battled on FA with a character named Maxim, and Chance actually had the misfortune of both being tasked to give Dante a gift in one of the Secret Santas, and be a part of Shipping & Handling. So as I get to writing the stories for here, I'm also in a roundabout way looking at how and if the characters that... my characters actually would have, could have, and still might, I mean, potentially, continue to interact with my own. So while others, like Cass and Alph were I think saying, are in this predominantly as like an.. April Fool's type thing mostly, unless I'm reading that wrong- what I'm here to look at, in addition to having a bit of fun with it myself are a couple little things with my- our- story that maybe could've been expanded upon a bit, and maybe could've been focused on instead of certain things that honestly may... have been worth spending more time on. Much as I love Dante, the more I push his story forward- without hearing back from people on every little the more writers like Chamel and Whitewood can find their stories pushed back, and under in some cases, with wRHG. I want to show what that can look like in story form, though obviously that's a hell of a venture.
