"It's all fine" Sarah relented before glancing over at her dance partner and back at light. "I just wish someone would have said something instead of just ditching me was all." She sounded a bit cold when she said that but she made it clear that she understood the circumstances. If somebody looked like they weren't feeling well or if there was an emergency then they had to help the person in need. Still, Abbas didn't seem to be in such a hurry when he walked away so he could have said something.

She sighed. It was just something she needed to look past if she was going to continue and enjoy the night. At the very least she found out she wasn't just being ditched for no reason in front of everybody else. That would not have been a pleasant experience to go through that again.

Abbas sighed, glancing down. He pointed behind himself, back towards the dance floor, and began backing up, "I'll be... Over there."

Strolling over, the Immortal sat down on the edge of the platform and put his face in his hands, groaning. "You think you're better than everyone else huh Abbas? You think you can just ditch your dance partner who took her own time to come here and invite me?"

He rubbed his eyes, "Ugh... What's wrong with me?"

Ana responded with another of her trademark smiles, "Oh please, you can't be anymore uncoordinated than some other people I've danced with throughout my trips."

The winged messenger looked around as she and her partner approached the dance floor. Seems some trouble was brewing, or at least that's what it sounded like from her superior hearing. She nearly tripped when a literal mountain of a man seemed to materialize out of nowhere form within some freakin' window curtains, not only that now that she got a better look the huge man's trajectory was heading towards another tall attendee...wait she wasn't that tall before. Ana would have doubted her memory except for the fact it was Eidetic, What in the hell happened to her? but if the taller newcomer was her partner it kind of made sense...oh, well like she was anyone to have a say in the matter.

The winged duo managed to make it without any trouble, though Ana did feel quite bad for the brunette that was left on her lonesome. Ana carefully maneuvered to a spot that would throw the least attention on the poor girl, Ana remembered the girl being called Sarah during the girl's earlier conversations, when the winged pair began to dance, and if what Eric said was right the pair would become the center of attention...if the scene by the two giants would resolve itself peacefully.

"Okay then, I'll take the lead," Ana promptly began after curling her wings in. She liked to think she was quite proficient at dancing, not a professional by any means but at least capable of not embarrassing herself, or those she was dancing with. It seemed like those lessons Min gave her on the art would produce fruit again. The Starry-winged girl began slow letting herself get a feel of how her partner moved, and hopefully vice versa.

The slow pace continued for a few, drawn out moments, as the music kept going at a slow jazzy pace, waiting for the chance to take off. The slow waltz music continued with some slow drums, symbols clashing, snares pounding, mixed with dulcet tones of saxophones and trumpets quietly humming in the foreground. Slow tempo was matched by slow steps. The winged individuals locked themselves in dancing hold, wings folded, keeping a courteous distance from each other.

Eric mirrored her partner's movements, watching the drama unfold, and scanning the dance-floor from side to side. Abbas, Halle, Clive, Loch, Blair, all these other characters blended into the background, and for a second, the half-angel was drawn inexplicably to the pale skinned 'Mr L.' For two reasons. First, his entire body radiated with electromagnetic energy. Infrared and Radio waves melded together with long-wavelength ultraviolet, tracing patterns across his skin only he could feel.

And second? This 'Mr L...' he was dead.

Necromantic energies wafted off his body, radiating a magical stench of death and creeping decay. He could almost feel the rot, the pain, and the slow descent back into a lifeless shell, only fit for fertiliser. It was a miracle he was intact; the spell felt old by normal standards. What had brought him back? Why was he dead in the first place? Was this another wielder of the sacrosanct?

But first, he had to figure out what to do with Ana. Priority number one.

Eric smirked. He might've been telling a teensy bit of a white lie when he'd said he was a bad dancer. He definitely wasn't good, not by anyones standards. When he solo danced, he looked even stupider than when he tried to initiate small talk. Partner-dancing however...

The music began to slow to a complete stop, signalling a small, momentary pause. Ana gave a surprised squawk as the nephilim drew her in to a tight dance hold. Before she could respond further, Eric whispered, "I think I'll take the lead back now."

With a drumroll, a brass fanfare opened up its musical broadside, unleashing a harmonious stream of fast-paced quavers and semiquavers. He quickly sped the unsuspecting avian across the room, spinning them around, turning her out and in, whirling her like the eponymous dervishes of old. A small crowd drew itself around the pair as he continued the dance, executing complex maneuver after complex maneuver. Eric focused only too things. Improvisation, and the jazz. Swinging couplets bounced across the room, dancing through his body, making his limbs move with musical fire. The notes flowed into him, translating into an internal beat. One-two-three-four, One-two-three-four...

His old musical memories came flooding back, and Eric relaxed to a level just above completely content. He wasn't forgetting his plan... but he might as well enjoy the execution.

Loch and Bartholomew waddled around as they danced lazily in a circle, Loch taking the opportunity to look around. This event had attracted quite the interesting ensemble of people. Another grim reaper, what from the outburst he overheard, a shapeshifter, an avian, an angel to his slight distaste, and two immortals; one seeming more cursed than gifted their situation. He never did like angels, having to deal with their holier-than-thou attitude when soul exchanges happened was never the best experience. Also due to his... more unsanctioned activities, his relations with some angels were rocky, to put it the best way. He didn't recognize this one though so he doubt the two would have much trouble. However in his pondering, he hadn't realized his feet had gotten lighter and he was holding onto nothing. He was only snapped out of it when he heard the small squeak of his little brother.

Bartholomew had caught on a particular scent, it was a scent he had grown accustom to as was his duty and grown to be quite fond of. Death was both his job and his meal ticket so the scent of a dying man was as hard to resist as cookies. The little boy had snuck away and bounced over to Light, tugging on the man's robes to get his attention. The man didn't seemed to be dying, and the smell was quite odd as it felt mixed with a different scent. It smelled old like the cookie-man, but this one had a particular stench to it, as if it wasn't sealed properly. Bartholomew wiped some drool creeping down his lips and tugged on the man's robes again as he craned his neck up to see, his hood falling off his head as his eye pierced through the shadows of the man's and the boy squeaked. "Pretty eyes."

Ana had to give Eric credit for two things, first would be his rather convincing lie about his dancing skills, though that was half Ana's fault for taking the statement at face value. In her defense, she never thought of someone lying about their dancing ability...it seemed a trivial thing to do. The second thing was the half-angel's actual dancing ability, while at least in-part improv, he knew his way around the dance floor.

Her heart was pounding like a drum in her ears, half from the increasing pace her partner was moving at and the other from the abrupt closeness the two were at. Ana was pretty sure her face was as flushed as an apple right now. Eric twirled her around again, all Ana could let out another squeak as her brain was too flustered to do more than keep up with her suddenly invigorated dance partner. Despite this she ignored the burning in her cheeks, or the increasing depth of her breaths, instead she let herself flow with the music, with her partner.

Ana opened her eyes the moment Eric drew back in from the twirl, her smile radiating and her eyes filled with fire. She picked up her pace though making sure the nephilim kept the lead. Somewhere deep inside her tensed, with every step the feeling grew and grew, anticipation massing larger and larger. Her wings began to twitch, a small, free giggle escaped her lips. She could feel it, the musical climax was nearing.

Eric drew her close and at that moment she whispered, "On three...one...two..."

She'd anticipated his intentions perfectly. Excellent. Tension bound itself to his muscles, mixing with a slight tinge of light energy. He mentally counted down, following her words. One... two...

    "THREE!"

The music reached its peak, sparking a massive brass fanfare, and Eric flung the girl skyward, launching her through the air. She altered her wing dynamic, spinning like a top, and then turning backwards, bringing herself to land. The half-angel leant out, grabbing the avian girl behind her shoulders, caving his wings around hers, catching her and letting her fall backwards. Her outer leg shot up, and he caught it expertly. They held that position for a few seconds, giving each other a mutual grin.

The music quickly started back up again, fading in volume from a loud and boisterous affair back to a few drum riffs, a bouncing piano, and some solos. Eric pulled Ana back out of her position with a spin, retracting into a tight hold, and continuing with the jazz waltz. She recovered quickly, clearly not expecting there to be another round of dancing

The surrounding crowds emitted awestruck applause. A few had started partnering up, trying to copy the half-angel's elaborate motions and Ana's expert tracking.

Before Halle could give an answer to Light's statement, Light felt a tug on his robe. Quickly turning his head down to see what it was, he spotted a peculiar sight. A child drooling on his robe. "And how may I assist you? What is your name, little boy? Are you looking for your parents" Surprisingly calm, despite being slightly weirded out by the child's actions and also the child's appearance. It was a strange round shaped appearance with weird combinations of colors. What it was, Light could never guess

However, as he spoke, the dance between the two winged dancers had taken off (pun intended), showing of their skills in a skillful and impressive dance. As they both finished, Light was among the first to join in on the applause, his loud but muffle claps sounding quite loudly through the room.

Bartholomew began by pointing at himself. "I Bart-All-La-Mew." He smiled proudly at being able to say his own name, his sharp teeth sparkling. At the mention of his parents he pointed over at Loch who was busy looking for the young boy again. The small boy looked back up at Light and stated, "So who you?" However the boy's comment was lost by the sound of applause and he looked around confused at what everyone was making so much noise for and so began clapping along with others. He flapped and giggled as he simply followed along. As the clapping died down and the boy simply looked back at the man, waiting for the man to answer the question.

Light kneeled down, his hulking frame shadowing over the smaller child, the scarf on his face accidentally touching Bart's face, gently touching his cheek. Yet, despite looking intimidating, he spoke with a clear and friendly voice. "My name? Well you can call me Mr L. Its a pleasure to meet you Bartalamew. What brings you to this ball with all these adults? Aren't you a bit lonely without any kids for you to play with?" As he spoke however, thats when Light got a proper look on the child's face. there was only one thing that brought his immediate attention. He spoke again, concern in his voice as he pointed towards the bandages on the child's head. "Who did that to you?"
