What are your plans for summer holidays? Have you already chosen a place to visit?

We are planning to go to Ireland this week, my friends prefer sightseeing and an active holiday, my wife and I would rather have a relaxing beach holiday. We figured through trip planner that Ireland would be ideal for both.

Does anybody have any experience with this? Is August worse than July in this regard?
