9/17/19 - Game 1 is done. 5p. I'm typing up the next game which is for 6p. Here are the players:
9/18/19 - Game 2 rules are up. Please familiarise yourselves with the setup for this 8p game.
10/8/19 - Game 2 ends. Very VERY Epic. Post-game discussion now open and we will take a break with a more lighthearted game before doing Game 3

Setup:
At the start of the game, Players will be given 2 things:
Alignment - Hacker or Stickpage. This determines your win condition:
1) The Hackers are the "Mafia" who have a cooperative Nightkill ability.
2) A Stickpage User is the "Town" who must get rid of all Mafia by lynch voting in the Day.

As well as:

Role - A variety of different kinds of users that walked the forum back in the day. Every single user has an ability that could be useful in the days ahead.
And what are the roles? See below:

Bot
A mindless drone and an omen of things to come.
Appearance(s) in Pool: 1
Made of SPAM - If at any moment you are forced to reveal your Role (via the Sub-Moderator or the Regular User's ability), the Spam-o-Matic kicks in and you are automatically banned from the forum!

Hewitt
A very controversial and annoying user.
Appearance(s) in Pool: 1
Magnetic Personality - At Night, if a Moderator (Global or Sectional) were to be targeted by a Hacker's ban, you will take center stage and make it all about you, forcing them to ban you instead.

Global Moderator
A pink purple Mod who oversees the entire forum.
Appearance(s) in Pool: 1
Sockpuppet - Anytime during the Day, you may reveal your own role to switch accounts and swap roles with anyone else. There can only be one Sockpuppet a day (so the recently swapped, cannot use it to swap back or at all).

Sectional Moderator
A lime green Mod who keeps the peace in a slice of the Stickpage kingdom.

Sectional Ban - Target a user at Night. They are banned from the Section! At the start of the next Day, they are forced to reveal their existing role and will secretly be given a new one from the pool.

Ex-Mod
A greyed out user who has served Stickpage in ages past. Now retired and revered by all.
Appearance(s) in Pool: 2
Established - As a user that has carried a certain clout, no Hacker will target you knowing fully well the repercussions of doing so. Moreover, if you are the target of a Day ability, you may reveal yourself to block and cancel it!

Troll
A troublemaker who gets his jollies off of getting people banned.
Appearance(s) in Pool: 2
Infraction by Proxy - You have a penchant for getting into trouble. At Night, you can choose to troll a player. The lowly Animator and Regular User will fall for your tricks and get banned! Anyone else however will wise up and get you banned instead! And if you meet a fellow Troll in this, nothing happens.

Animator
An average user who has dreams of making it big, with stick fighting coolness.

RHG Duel - During the Day, you may reveal yourself to publicly challenge someone to an RHG match! That user will cooperate and as required for animating, must and will reveal their role to you.

Regular User
An average user and the most common sort who enjoys the forums for what it is.

Report Button - During the Day, you may reveal your own role to Report on someone. You then have ONE chance to guess what you think their role is. If you are correct, they MUST reveal that role to everyone, drop it, and assume a new role from the pool. This ability can only be used ONCE per Regular User per Game.

New Mechanics:

The Pool of Roles
There are a total of 16 role cards, each representing any of the roles above. Note that some roles have more appearances than others. At the start of the game, the 8 players will be dealt 8 of these role cards, leaving the other 8 in a Pool. Anytime an ability activates, that will require an ability to switch out, a random role will be drawn from this pool. Discarded roles will be open information for everyone.

Day and Night Abilities
Alot of abilities (aside from the Hacker's Night kill) can be activated in either the Day or the Night. I will post a format during the game in order to trigger the former.

While Night abilities trigger all at once, Day abilities are triggered in the order that they are activated. I will post in the thread every 24 hours to trigger Day abilities. I can also be contacted on Discord as an emergency should an ability need triggering earlier and the game cannot proceed properly without it.

Because of how Day abilities might slow the game down, I am extending in-game days to two weeks instead, but will end the Day if a unanimous lynch is formed.

After a long epic offscreen battle

Mommy Devour: panting Well. That was a waste of time.

Daddy Exile: also panting It seems we're at an impasse.

Mommy Devour: This forum is dying dead and it's all your fault. With my nurturing hand, we might still have a chance!

Daddy Exile: Yeah, right! As if I'll hand over complete control to you. This forum needs a FIRM hand or the bots will overrun us once in for all.

the two continue fighting and the camera zooms out revealing that they are both on top of a precarious spire as billions of bots slowly crawl up the structure and blend into the chaotic scenery

So that's the story. Here are the Roles!

One of the two remaining mods who have yet to abandon this godforsaken place. Has unlimited power but has grown tired and cannot stop the bots anymore. The only being left to quench her thirst is the only other Mod in the realm.
Ability:
Mod Killing LAZOR - When given the chance, she can target 1 Player at Night. That Player dies. However, if Devour is killed while this action is happening, the kill is invalidated unless the target was Exile.

Btw, you MUST select a target. You cannot pass at Night.

We Are Bot. We Are Legion.
Bots are pretty much all that's left of Stickpage. Amalgamations of dead and non-existent users, warped by the realm itself. They're mindless, and implied to have a hive mind. They will stop at nothing until the entire forum is consumed!

Ability:
Swarm! - If a Bot is killed in the Day, all other bots will swarm the stage, covering everyone in eternal darkness and night falls!

So basically, unless a Bot is killed, night will never fall and the Mods can't use their abilities!

Okay that's done. Here's the Role Layout if it wasn't obvious yet:

Game Flow is like so:
Day1 - must lynch someone. Player with most votes gets lynched. If it's a tie, a random one is chosen!
If a Bot is lynched - goto Night 1
If a Mod is lynched - goto Day 2

Night1 - Mods select who to kill.

Day 2 - Rinse and Repeat
If both Mods remain alive by Day 2, they BOTH win and the Bots lose.

Until 1 faction is alive and the game is over!

Rules:
1) Private Messaging Allowed. I mean not like I can't stop it, but go ahead knock yourselves out.
2) Play to your role. Play to win. No griefing.
3) Though Private messaging is allowed, Day Talk is restricted to this thread. Don't bring it anywhere else, not on Discord, not on another thread.
4) Have fun!



Sign-up either through this forum, by posting or just letting yourself be known on Discord. When I have all 5 confirmed players, I will PM roles on Discord.

"Days" in this game last a real-life week. And "Nights" last 3 real-life days. I will post a timer to prevent timezone confusion.

The First Day

Mommy and Daddy are locked in battle. Bots are swarming everywhere in a maelstrom of confusion...nobody can tell who is who!!!

Rules:
1) Lynch 1 User amongst the 5 of you. The person with the most votes gets eliminated. Use the #Vote tag so I'll know.

3) In the event of a tie, a random person is chosen amongst the tied.
4) You cannot *not* vote.
5) No Griefing. Play to your role. Play to win.
6) PMs allowed. In fact, I expect ya'll have fun taking screenshots of your deceptions. But if you're all having a discussion, try to keep it in one place AKA this thread.

To recap, here are the Win Conditions:
- Exile has to kill Devour and The Bots to win.
- Devour has to kill Exile and The Bots to win.
- The Bots have to kill Devour and Exile to win.
- If Exile and Devour survive The First Night and only one Bot remains, they both Draw and the Bot loses.

And here are the Role Rule Clarifications:
- Exile and Devour have Nightkill privileges.
- If Exile or Devour is killed at night, whoever they target will not die UNLESS it's each other.
- Night will never fall until a Bot is lynched.

Seeing as how any random vote is in favor of bots, purely based on two coin tosses I nominate to #vote ErrorBlender

If my math is right, even if we kill a mod on day 1 we still only have an overall 20% chance of winning with random votes (2/5 chance of success day one, 1/3 chance day two). Killing a bot means both mods will kill during the night which opens up all sorts of possibilities, two of which can end the game in one night, but the overall odds don't exactly stack in our favor.

So the odds don't seem to agree with the idea that random voting is how we should play to our win condition. In fact it's best for the mods if the voting is done as quickly and arbitrarily as possible.

Now, seeing all that math an effort being put into finding the most efficient way to end things is rather suspicious Exile, I can't help but feel something is off about that.
