    Antebellum: The Five Nations RP

Hello, its been awhile. I present Antebellum: The Five Nations RP. Please step in, yes. Take off your, whatever article of clothing you use on your feet, and hang your coats on the rack. Its gonna be a weird ride. You know the general rules of RP: don't be a dick, don't god-mod and do try to be active. All right? Sit down with your RP brothers and sisters and let's play. Oh you wanted a discord link to the RP chat? Get on Stickpage's first. Yes. We're alive.

    Premise:
Mythran is in the deadly crossroads. A war is about to start between all five factions: Mythron, Hollowed, Sento, Silidar and the Vetran. Deep in each of their territories, armies rise and the civility between each nation crumbles into rubble. Deep in the icy wastes to the east, lie the Fades: an organization built from the ashes of the old to keep society from crumbling into chaos and falling into the wrongful hands of dictators and egomaniacs. Their time has come again, as they always do in history that the Fades must intervene and dispose of the nation's leaders that build on the strife that will come after the war.

The Fades will be the last chance for peace.

    Lumina Fade Stronghold Entrance

Deep in Fade territory lied Lumina, a stronghold carved directly into the mountain face and expanded inside of it like an anthill. Freezing winds combed the forests at its foot, bringing snow and ice in its wake. A ragtag group of individuals, found from every corner of Mythran had been called to gather in Lumina to discuss matters that concerned the continent's survival and balance. They were escorted by several Fades dressed for the winter, thick fur jackets with their hoods covering their faces and some carried weapons: swords at the hip, some had spears strapped on their backs and others staves. The trek up the mountain was silent until they reached the entrance. A smooth stone bridge had been carved to cross a ravine that came between the entrance. The bridge itself was so smooth and perfect, one could deny it was made by craftsmen and instead by mages. Once they had crossed they noticed several fades had revealed themselves from higher positions and waved at those below, three fades from the escort then had positioned themselves to guard the entrance while the rest guided the group into the stronghold.

Inside, you could hardly smell anything. It was cold but fortunately warmer, the walls itself were the same as the bridge: immaculate and perfect in construction. Slowly, they noticed the hallways expand in every direction which allowed the party to at least move a bit more freely and that the taller ones didn't have to slouch or squeeze. Several minutes of walking, they had passed a large canteen with over several hundred fades gathered, training areas with the sound of clashing steel and explosion magic and a war room where some recognized the party and gave them a nod of acknowledgement as they passed the door. The escort lead them to a large room, meant for guests. It was bleakly designed, a box with furniture that could be depressingly called inviting. Several chairs, two tables, a couch and no windows. A carpet had been placed beneath each table and that was about it for comfort while every other furniture was made of pine wood or stone or a combination of both.

"You will remain here while the our Leaders convene to the plan," one of the escorts said. He was Elent, introduced himself when the party had arrived at the foot of the mountain and remained as the leader of the escort. "Make yourselves comfortable. Food will be delivered shortly." The other fades went for the exit and left Elent with the party.

No correspondence or people ever reach her forest hut. Bah, not even the villagers closest by know where she lives, despite her visits every few days. More often when someone was badly sick. She has never invited anyone, and made sure that the cabin stands far away from even the least common paths and shortcuts. Yet the message was delivered anyway.

A knock on the door was a sound she was greatly unused to. Repealing the door hesitantly, there stood a man. At first she thought it was a peasant, desperate enough to actually find her in the woods, seeking aid. But his dignified demeanor and an emblem of Fades quickly told her otherwise.

    ***

They arrived few days later, among others. As she pulled up her hood, Peladryia was once more glad to have her cloak, she rarely separated with. As many times before, it had offered her protection from the elements, keeping her mostly comfortable. They traveled in great silence, many hesitant to even exchange a short glimpse, yet alone speak up. It would've been drowned by the wind anyway, wouldn't it? She has avoided these parts of the land for most of her life now, but the architecture was quite impressive, for a mount dwelling destined for eyes of the few.

They were escorted to some kind of a guest room, and told to wait, to make themselves comfortable. Peladryia walked in timidly and looked around. Instead of taking use of any furniture however, she approached one of the tables. Without asking anyone for permission, she began to push the piece of furniture. After a few seconds of grinding wood and stone, the table was off the soft carpet, and Pel took its place instead, sitting down cross-legged. She began to eye the others without being any bit subtle about it. Now out of the snow and as they began to make themselves comfortable, she could've get a much better look at them. An...Interesting bunch...

I should probably try and find something interesting to put in here...

They came asking for help. Help was the one thing Xerkin wanted to give more than anything else. It took little to convince the large hollowed to come along, his trusting nature leading him to believe others needed him. Yet here he is now, in a fortress deep within a frozen world. It was cold, the cold reminded him of the dark. It was comforting in a way, but scarier in another.

The large creature stepped forth, his nightmarish form looming over the human-sized furniture. He plopped heavily on the couch, the wood squealed in protest as it supported his weight. His empty, dark eyes looked over to the others, an expressionless porcelain veil gazing towards them. A deep, grumbling voice came from behind it.

    "I am Xerkin Shayatin. Pleasure."

His large clawed hands rubbed together anxiously, the travel and introduction taking their toll on his composure.

Luke had no idea why he was here. He had been wandering the Sento lands, and enjoying the atmosphere, when a well-dressed man with a Fades symbol came up to him. He was unnerved on how they managed to track him down, and confused about his importance in the so-called "mission" they talked to him about. Of course, his curiosity overcame his fear, and Luke decided to go along with him. After all, the whole business seemed to hint at exciting things to come.

As soon as he arrived, however, Luke was immediately smashed into a wall of sheer cold. He had never visited Fade territory, and for good reason. He wasn't adjusted to the climate at all, due to it being the complete opposite of his homeland. As they trekked up the mountain, he began to daydream of sand mountains and warm bread and HEAT. Luke was quickly brought back to reality by a particularly nasty gust of wind, which caused him to almost lose his balance and trip over the edge.

As soon as they entered the room, Luke began to flick his eyes up and down, and side to side, scanning the room. A large percentage of the furniture seemed to be made out of stone. Good. Coming from a place where trees and plants were scarce, Luke was glad to see that they didn't cut down all of the ones here. He liked trees. Didn't know all of the reasons why, but he did. The room had zero cushions. Unfortunate. He had at least expected the couch to have something other than pure wood. Maybe he could work out a deal with them-nah. This trip wasn't related to business at all, so there is no need to conduct any. Besides, he left the company to get away from business. How could he have forgotten?

Luke examined the carpet, gazing at its surface and trying to determine what material it was made out of. Suddenly, a sound. He looked up, and saw a poncho-wearing woman push a table out of the way, while it protested with a high-pitched screeching sound.
She then took its position, a move that piqued his curiosity, and began to look at him and the rest of the group. Luke chuckled to himself. It seemed like he wasn't the only one who liked to observe.

He knew, from the awkward silence, that someone was eventually going to introduce himself or herself. Luke's suspicions were correct, as a towering hollowed with huge claws decided to go first. He decided to hold off on introducing himself until the end, as he wanted to hear about the other people first. Besides, he wasn't all that interesting, and going second didn't seem like an enticing prospect.

It had taken the Fades multiple attempts to locate Tryssa, and several hours of negotiation to convince her to join them on this mission. Tryssa was enjoying her vacation and did not want to see it come to a premature end, though she considered it would be an opportunity to set things in motion that would further her ultimate agenda. Tryssa reluctantly agreed and set off to meet up with other... colorful individuals who were no doubt scouted for their unique capabilities.

Her cloak protected her from the harsh winds, though her cheeks were flushed from the winds since she had always struggled to find a hood that could conceal her horns. The architecture annoyed her, a system of tunnels in the mountain side annoyed her, and hearing this big ass Hollowed beast lumber itself around annoyed her. Still, she would be expected to play nice, and so she would, for now.

Tryssa sighed as the stupid human pushed the stupid table. It’s so typical of humans to be disruptive.

Tryssa gave Xerkin a pat on the back as she stepped around his hulking frame. “Don’t eat the human, Xerk.” The couch found itself being blessed with Tryssas company as she took a seat and crossed her legs almost impatiently. Socializing, what a drag.

It was another peaceful day for Arthur and his family when an unprecedented knock on his front door echoed throughout his humble home. Upon answering, Arthur was met with a sudden burst of nostalgia as his ex brothers in arms requested that he attended an important meeting at the Lumina Stronghold. It was with a heavy heart he agreed to attend.
Arthur lifted a trap door found underneath a heavy floor rug. A wooden ladder that had been seldom used led to a small, dim lit room, where in lies a single chest. Inside was Arthur's neglected leather armor and claymore. He methodically put his gear on, something he had done many times before, and hoped he'd never have to do again. His claymore sprung to life, quickly darting into its sling on Arthur's back.
Arthur returned upstairs and gave his final farewell to his wife and daughter, promising a swift return before being lead off to the meeting

Memories came flooding in as they approached the stronghold. The sudden rush of nostalgia made him grin. Though it quickly faded as the cold seeped through his armor, reminding him of how unforgiving the climate here is.
His fellow Fades led him along with several other strange individuals into a small room where they began to make themselves comfortable. After some... redecorating and a concerning remark from a horned woman, a strange creature that Arthur had been avoiding eye contact with broke the silence. "I am Xerkin Shayatin. Pleasure".
"And I am Arthur Caldwell" said Arthur. "I used to work with the Fades". He thought about shaking Xerkin's hand, but he quickly decided against it, unsure of what hand to even shake..
