I didn't think it was overly convoluted or anything, that said I knew what I was getting into, but I had a lot of trouble remembering who was who and how they were related to each other (I still can't remember half of their names). Once I got past that it got infinity better, I also have the feeling that I'll like it even more when I get around to re-watching it.

But yeah, Smile I get what you mean about Death Note keeping you on the edge of your seat, it's actually nice to find a show that does that. But then again, it's terrible when you find that show and you have to watch it as it airs.

Just going to dump more of this here.
Oh and the action section is pretty long for obvious reasons. It will be a LOT longer than the others.
    Spoiler for Action:

Where I'm at though, the feeling sort of isn't as present as it used to, to be honest.

Though the episode after the next is titled "Revival" so it may start getting uphill again for me.

I still don't think Hunter x Hunter is dark.

Oh that was turned into an anime? Well it's pretty good imo, but it's nothing special.

I'm only 5 episodes in and I pretty much agree with you, but I just don't get it. Like if you want to have a romance with a girl with serious family issues and a withdrawn boy, by all means do it, if you want to have an over the top campy romcom between a zombie otaku and an actual zombie, by all means do it, but mixing both feels strangely bipolar at times...

I can see what you're saying, but I never felt that was ever an issue. At least not to the point where it bothered me.

EDIT: So I'm fairly certain that I'm not at the feels part yet, but I wills say that Clannad AS has gotten substantially better after they got away from the whole school thing.
