    Are you using the correct USB cable that came with the phone? Some micro-usb cables are power only, and have no data transfer. (I have 2 of these, they suck). Try original cable or verify the cable has data transfer.

    You can buy Bluetooth adapter for a cheap price if you need wireless network. I did that when my phone's usb port popped out.

    What makes it so ass is that sometimes the window does pop up, and when I try to access the files in it, there's nothing in there! I tried unplugging and plugging it back in but it goes back to not being recognized :<

    Did you try my wireless method yet? You haven't really mentioned if your PC is wireless-capable so I'm assuming it's still a viable option.
