To put it simply, BattleCON is a fighting game in the form of a card/board game. It hosts ALOT of characters, each with their own unique styles. Zombie Summoning Rock Star? Relic Hunting Badass? Artifact Manipulating Time Master? Galaxy Mage? Dragon Queen? Phoenixborn? We got it right here. As it is, I am accepting open signups provided you've gotten yourself started on reading the rules. I will not explain how its played, it is quite long and elaborate. Turn away if you don't have the patience.

The game itself is a bit complicated but fun once you get through it. If you want to play or want to learn how to play, simply read our ongoing games to get a feel for it. I will also be listing some Resources below:

Resources (READ HERE FIRST)
1) How to Play BattleCON, watch the video to refresh yourselves on the rules. This is the shortest way to learn the basics.
2) Or if you prefer to read Here's a PDF of a print-and-play preview. It should have all the basic rules, minus Pulse/Cancel/Special actions (more on that sooner or later).
3) The World of Indines wiki is where you will be getting most of your info regarding character specifics. Bookmark it, use it, read up on it in your spare time.
4) The old BattleCON Thread that I ran before this. Check it out to get a gist of how it works.
5) **New** This thread has gained enough battles to be used for perusing as well. See the section below for more info.
6) **New** BattleCON is being played in online forums everywhere as well. SomethingAwful has threads. MafiaScum has threads. Just google it and you'll see how it's played if you need more demos to look at.


How to Start Play:
1) Pick a character. There are 60 of them. 15 here. 30 here. And 10 here. Characters are separated into Flights, which represent difficulty tiers. Advanced Tiers usually require a deeper understanding of Fighting Game logic, as well as more micromanagement than usual. Please note that the Promo and Guest characters listed in those pages will not be available for selection due to their decidedly OP natures.

If you have no opponent, I'll be glad to take you on. Or I can find one for you.

Once you've picked a character, post the link to them so I can bookmark it.

2) Once you've selected a Fighter, goto their page and CTRL+F their "Character Kit". It will contain the ff:
- The Fighter's Unique Ability (use the "Original" for this thread)
- Their Personal Styles and Base
- Their Finisher (Pick 1 of the 2 given)
- Any additional tokens and markers if necessary.

Take note of all these, as you will be using them to fight.

3) Goto this page and include the first set of Bases you see. These will be the Bases you will use to pair Styles with.

4) **NEW** Our latest games have added new elements to the games:
a) Replacement of Dodge to Dash. The difference is simply a lowered Priority (9 to 3) in order to make Dodging more risky
b) Use of the Force Gauge. This is a bar on the bottom of the Fighting Game screen which grants all sorts of buffs and changes the way games are played. This will be introduced as we play.
c) The use of Extra Bases. There are more than just one kind of Base and they are all available and can change the way a character is played.

5) If this is your first time playing, I will gladly walk you through it. Just be sure to have already read the rules so we can have an easier time.

Nice. Alright, we can begin.

Both of you name your initial discards. (a pair in Discard 1 and a pair in Discard 2). I've also linked them in the OP for both your conveniences.

Error, name the Droid you'd like to be in your own space.

Here's the Legend for the battle:

A - ARIA
H - Heketch

DF - Dark Force Token
M - Magnetron Droid (-1 Priority)
D - Dampening Droid (-1 Power)
T - Turret Droid (-1 HP at end of Beat)

We may begin as soon as you fulfill the requirements above.

@Azure: Since only you have an ability that resolves during Ante phase, you can choose to also post your Ante (by posting #Ante DarkForce) alongside your Attack Pair (in spoilers of course). The rules say Ante's come out after both players post Attack Pairs, but if you feel cocky enough, you can drop em without having to wait for Error. This will speed up the game significantly. If you choose not to, waiting until he posts his pair before you post Ante is also fine. Your choice.

@Error: Spaces in the game are read left to right (1 to 7). If given the chance to direct me in placing a token, tell me the space number or if it's beside you, say if it's to the left or right of you.

One more thing, there will be no deadlines. You're both active and this is a private game. Play at your own pace, but please if you find yourself unable to for a period of time or forever, please notify so the other party will know.

Yes. I will allow Specials if Error agrees, which he most likely will as he knows how to use them from last time.

Just so we're clear, this is the one that lets you perform Pulse, Cancel, or Finisher once per game.

EDIT: Okay I just tried if carriage returns affect the Activity Stream. It doesn't.

I realize that the Activity Stream is the only thing that can stop spoilers. To which I say, Honesty System, guys. This is the fastest way to do things and if you can help it, don't let the AS influence your moves.

Beat 1:

Heketch uses Psycho Knives (1-2 4 6)
ARIA uses Dimensional Burst (4-5 2 5)

Heketch goes first!


At the sound of the first round Heketch grins from cheek to cheek. He quickly disappears into a blur. But ARIA telegraphs and retreats after Heketch gets in her face, narrowly avoiding a knife slash to the torso!

ARIA fires a warning shot but it overshoots Heketch and misses. She jumps in the air and swoops down where she fired her warning shot to, after the coast is clear. Both fighters eye each other cautiously, careful not to step into each other's range.
