So....
I was thinking about hosting a "Monster Char" party for Halloween. Essentially, just create a Monster-like wRHG (or use your own if it fits that criteria) and then there will be a competition (Still figuring out how I'll work that).
This is meant to be fun, please note. I'm not looking for super serious chars (although you CAN do that, if you want).
As an example, here's a little char I created (even if my idea doesn't fly, I might use him for a few joke stories/battles).
Freddy LumpLump
So, just testing interest in this line of thought. Please respond with what you think. If there's enough interest I'll see about moving forward with this.

Lol at first I thought you were being serious, the 1st three paragraphs were a good entry to an actual book or something. Make dis happen!
Though Lump Lump has so many powers and stuff it might be hard to remember all.

H: Sounds fun! Lump Lump sounds like a funny but powerful OC.

This sounds sweet, we just make wRHG characters that fit the Monstrous role. Would the Mods allow it?

I don't see the mods having a problem with this.
The big thing here is that I'm not trying to have us replace our standard wRHG chars (although you could if you want), but rather just create ones specifically for a "specialty" area that would only be short term.
The way I'm thinking this would work so far would be a Tournament, in which everyone joins, and then I do semi-random (mainly giving consideration to new/inexperienced writers vs seasoned fighters) match-ups. These would work just like normal wRHG battles, except with the theme of being a bit more good-spirited Trick-or-Treat-ish (although with some chars this good spirit could probably get rather violent, the point stands).
If you join, you have to vote on the tournament rounds, also. Anyhow, after all match-ups have been made for round one and the voting completed (only 1 vs 1 battles), after eliminations I do another set of match-ups, etc. until it's down to the two finalists. Last man standing wins.
As a side note, I may think up some form of reward, but don't 100% count on this :P. I'll announce it if I do.

Quote from AlphonsoI don't see the mods having a problem with this.
If the mods have to come in between that means you're doing something severely wrong. They're not a gauge for if your idea is plausible or not, rather gauge it by the amount of interest towards the idea shown by the community.

You want to do something specific to halloween? Alphonse I think you greatly underestimate how long it takes to finish a tournament and how much effort goes into those things. Lobotomizer tried organizing one but that eventually died off on its own too.
Do something that's a one-off event. It doesn't even have to be a battle but keep it simple, sweet and short (or another adjective that doesn't start with s).
That's just my two cents on the matter. Don't think too much of this, Alph, it's just a seasonal event.

I'm all for seasonal events and stuff, but these things take a bit. By the time this gets out of the planning stage, interest has been gathered, etc- it'll be Halloween already. I think the idea of a Halloween event/tournament isn't a bad one, but we may have missed our window for this year. May as well just focus on planning this year's Christmas-themed event. I was thinking we should call it "Secret Santa 4: Claus Is Back For More"
It's gonna be huge.

Considering the fact I haven't actually done any of this myself(battles or Secret Santa), I don't
a) Know if I'm allowed to do it
b) If point a is a yes, what EXACTLY the setting is meant to be (I understand it is like normal secret santa, but how do you actually do it (the actual pages don't seem to help))?

Dude, just because you have yet to battle anybody doesn't mean you're not allowed to do other things in this section. If you're that worried about your lack of content holding you back from participating in certain things then write a short story, do some poetry, challenge the next new guy who strolls on into town, just fucking do something other than hang around like some extra.
Oct 30, 2016 9:32 AM #1465409
But I am an extra. Also, I'm currently waiting on spooky skeletons... on a thing. Aussi, I can write poetry, but it is SO FUCKING GODDAMN SHIT compared to everyone else here that I feel inadequate and don't bother.
Oct 30, 2016 2:21 PM #1465423
Oh, don't feel inadequate, Dooms. We're are just here to learn anyway, and some of us are outright adults. I'm 22, or instance, and I'm pretty sure that Alph is older than I am. If you want to compare things, just look at the thing you wrote before compared to the thing you wrote last. There are some serious age gaps, so there's a wide spectrum here
Oct 30, 2016 4:14 PM #1465433
When did I mention my age? I'm not an idiot (although some here would beg to differ). I'm aware.I'm just unnecessarily paranoid, and really immature. Thank you for the kind words, though.
EDIT: Can someone clarify if the golden waffle is busy? Bcuz I, uh... can't help but notice that he is...either busy or completely ignoring the fictional org. I posted. Oh, btw, can someone tell me if that is ok?
