Breads, rice, and other grains are starches, which break down to simple sugars, AKA carbs. Also, you can gain calories (read: energy) from proteins and fats as well.

Wait what? His black wisps do no damage but can knock someone out? How does that work? So the wisps act more like sleeping pills than an actual weapon?

I don't want Saynes's actual main abilities to not be overpowered by his side abilities.
Maybe the other way around. :/
