Oblivion is an awesome game.

I might say that it gets boring, except that, after not playing for a year I logged over 100 hours almost straight with breaks for sleep, food, and exercise before I got bored again.

Every single game out there gets boring eventually, that isn't a reason not to buy them. It's a great game. As someone already said, download the demo and see what you think.

Oh, so you're not tired of
1. Enter portal to other dimension that looks like a red desert"
2. "Find entrance to tower"
3."Kill Deadra inside"
4."Get Demonstone or whatever it is (Been a long time)"
5. Repeat from step 1.

wait wait wait

you actually think you NEED to do this?

DERP

i've only done.. one of them so far, for the main quest, that i havent even completed yet.

also, if your computer can play the game, get it for the ****ing pc, all the mods and shit are ****ing bitchin and make the game a hell of a lot better.

The main quest takes you 2 days to complete on hard, and 8 hours on easy.
The side missions are ok, but meh
Sure, you can go exploring! That would be cool, if all the landscape didn't look the ****ing same.

Oh ya, doing some missions for the Fighters Guild, having to kill a person that, you not knowing, is a member of the mages guild. You kill this person, and the mages guild mysterically knows that you were the one who killed him, expelling you from their guild. Making you do a buggy quest that I never got to finish, because there was a ****ing bug in the game and I was stuck in an Ayleid ruin.

The guards always seem to be ****ing mentalists or something, 'cause when I steal a horse in the middle of nowhere, where nobody sees it, they'll know.
Way to go telepathic AI!

And no, I didn't play it for only 1 hour. I played it for a week or 2 non-stop.
If you compare it to Morrowind, Oblivion is pure shit, and you know it.

Oblivion is a ****ing awesome , which is annoyingame. You can walk around doing whatever you want. The problem is, when you kill someone these guards start killing you non-stop, which is annoying.

You should get it.

It's incredibly complex, and really fun. Get the game of the year edition for the 360 with the knights of the nine and the shivering isles. This game has a few bugs, and gets boring after you do everything, which you likely will never do, but it's definitely fun.

I'm trying to discover all of the forts/ruins/caves/etc in the game by sweeping from north to south, then moving east a little, south to north, and so forth. That's when it gets boring. The only thing that bugged me was that if you were in multiple guilds, some of the guild's missions might lead you to kill one of the other guild's members, thus expelling you from that guild. It's fun to go around breaking in to every shop you can find and stealing all their shit. There are actually some pretty good books in the game. The daedric god system was fun, what with the shrines and their quests.

I'd recommend it.

2-D is right, you aren't required to close any of the oblivion gates besides one.

I disagree completely.

I've been on the main quest since I got the game almost a year ago. (Not because of difficulty, but because I spend more time EXPLORING and doing freeform quests)

And I played Morrowind for a year and a half before I got oblivion, and they both have their own advantages.

Play both, they're both incredible games, despite what Trypheon says.

Dammit! Well, gamestop has a 7 day return policy for used games, (i think), so if I don't like it, I can return it =D

BTW, Chunky is the #1 in the world.

Oblivion is what you make it to. I have this character named Mohammad. Whenever I play with him I wrap a towel around my head and yell "Allah! Akhbar! Death to the infidels!" while wildly attacking random people in the streets.
