All I want is for the wall-hitting code that he gives to work, but when I put it in Flash it just... doesn't. I know how to code at least to this level, and it gets an error despite the code being apparently clean imo.

So if anyone (someone who knows their stuff) could go to that tutorial and try and get it to work, I'd be most grateful. And if you do get it to work, then please do so.

by the way, did you have an instance as walls?

Right, if you use his code and then your own movement code they will overlap and simple cause a slow-down effect when the character hits a wall. Post the exact code and errors if you can.
I can supply a similar code that should work in the same way though if you want it.

EDIT: Working through the tut my code is VERY similar. The only difference being that I know it works.
