Hey guys! So While writing for my battle against Azrael, I had a thought about weapons that are extremely underrated. So I decided to host an unofficial contest to see your guys' creativity in character making. This is all for fun, and there is no prize, yet. Since you said UNDERRATED weapon, I'm going with legit weapons here.

So, that said, here's my input:

The Sling. Out of ALL the weapons you see, this one just doesn't get any love. It's degraded as the entry tier ranged wep games, neglected in RP, and the only time you hear about it is if someone brings up David and Goliath.

Why is it underrated? Well, it's unimpressive. A strap of leather that slings a stone. Well, yeah...that's simple, and rather bland. Fact is that when properly done that stone is flying at extremely high speeds over long range with astounding accuracy. Essentially you have a super cheap, foldable, portable, undetectable, compact small arm weapon that can use literally ANYTHING of appropriate size/weight as ammo.

I support the Sling for the most underrated weapon. I mean, heck, even DIRT get's more love in RPGs than slings.

How about the simple shield. It's almost never used despite it's real-life reliability even on gladiators who could easily wield it with their weapons. I guess it's because everyone thinks it's fancier or cooler to just wield some complicated sword but I don't know.

Hmmm... This seems interesting!

I wanna go with the ōdachi, a longer variant of its smaller (but better known) brother the katana.

It was originally designed to be used from horseback, as it was super lengthy and unwieldy to use on foot. It may have been deadly when properly used on either ground or on a mount, but it still wasn't as famous as its little brother.

Those assassin arm blade thingies.

And a long very sharp pointy stick

So it is simply creating a character that uses an underrated weapon to fight, right?

So everything is written in official wRHG Character format, including a demo. But really this demo showcases your character in a fight. And who knows! maybe you'll use them in the future!

I'll be participating with my previously mentioned character (coming soon) who will use an odachi.

On second thought, i'm going for the shield. And a blade can pop out from it!
