I actually think taxes are great. In Norway we have to pay about 25% of our income in tax. This goes mainly to roads, public transport, culture, hospitals and education. Too many people think of taxes as something evil stealing their money, that isn't it. It's more like letting the state manage some of your money for the good of society. Of course, the state isn't always a good manager, but then the problem is in the government, not the tax system.
