Well after a while I have really gotten into my one theory and that is that the name makes the person, Now I know that you will say that its purely genetics that make the person but I find that to not be true, A person with parents that have blonde hair can have a child with brown hair, and usually that is the case.

Now what I have gotten to is that a persons name can define who you are, Every Katie or Katy I have seen has been emo, or ugly and dumb, like not to be mean or anything, but this is off the 7 Katy's I know but as for the two Caitlin's in my class, there smart, straight A students, who are quite hot and have a positive attitude but are quite shy.

Another name that I see come up a lot that can be pretty successful is Chris, Movie ending credits I see at least 3 Chris's and I know that could be because there are just so many names but, I don't believe that I believe that it's because the name itself is successful.

I know this sounds kind of far out and NON believable but I want you to take it to mind and help me with this to, tell me if there is someone at your school named Katy that is smart, because I've always wanted to go outside of my school and see if my research is correct.

I doubt it.

Somehow the idea that your parents choose your future fate/life in the one second they choose you're name.

"Let's name him...jimmy"
Some guy who would actually believe your idea comes up.
"WAIT RIGHT THERE, Do you want your son to grow up to be a heroine abusing porno star who is also bi-curious!? No? Then you mus name him CHRIS! I've named all of my children chris and I just KNOW they're going to be big super stars in Hollywood!"

As if dude. The human mind finds patterns in everything, and I think that's what you've done.

You said you noticed 3 Chris' in the credits. What about everyone in the credits who wasn't named Chris? And I'm sure you can find some addict on the street named Chris.

I'm not sure whether this is a joke debate or not.

Also it does have something to do with the parents, if your parents take careful time and consideration into your name and view your personality for the first months of your life, then they will name you accordingly, so the name can kind of be based upon that to, the personality of the child. Meaning you would grow up like that, with that name etc and the personality and the name that was given to your personality would make you who you were.

Yeah i doubt it. You can change names, and it was probably a coincidence that you met 7 Kaities and all were dumb and ugly.

That's because the gene for brown hair is dominant to the recessive blond hair gene. Pure genetics, like you mentioned.

I know 3 Katies, two graduated and one is a senior. One of them was very close to being the valedictorian, and now plays trumpet in the Marines. The other weighed around 350 pounds, and was a complete idiot. The senior is intelligent, knows a lot about philosophy. The trumpeter has blonde hair, the fat one is a redhead, and the senior has black hair.

Another name that I see come up a lot that can be pretty successful is Chris, Movie ending credits I see at least 3 Chris's and I know that could be because there are just so many names but, I don't believe that I believe that it's because the name itself is successful.

Again, I know two Chris's. One's a skateboarding faggot and the other is a straight D student who does a lot of drugs.

Chris is a popular name, that's why you see it a lot in huge lists of names such as movie credits.

Genetics and the environment you grow up in make up who you are. Not your name.

This was your first mistake, your second mistake was the Human Confirmation Error or something like that.

It's the human tendency to point out and note things that confirm a theory while disregarding or ignoring evidence that counters it.

Except for me.

My name is Michael.

Michael Phelps = Has won eight gold medals in a single Olympics and is a beast in swimming.

Me = None of the above and I do not swim and I'm hardly as athletic as he is.

/debate

edit: forgot to mention Michael Jordan.

I think the only way your name could affect your development is if you were named Jenkers Hominyhojobo. Or something ridiculous like that, that's sort of hyperbole. Having a strange name would sort of lower your morale, because of teasing.

But you eat 12,000 calories every day just like Michael Phelps, right?

I think the person makes the name.

Like i find that a lot of ugly chicks have ugly names, and hawt chicks have hawt names.

A lot of fags have faggy names, and a lot of assholes have assholey names.
