The BSoD is usually caused by hardware or software failure. Since booting in safe mode works, it's a good bet it's a software problem.

What's the last thing you remember doing before this occurred?

I'm bored, so here's some more information:

0xC0000005: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION indicates that a memory access violation occurred.

Although it looks like your other thread will have it wrapped it up soon.

Thanks for that, I hadn't seriously considered a system restore, so I might try that soon...
Except, here's what's got me.
The most recent system restore point I have was last wednesday (13th august), at 1:50:25 PM, and it says I "Installed Windows XP KB909394". What the ****?
I'm thinking this may be caused by my brother, who frequently fixes other people's computers, and recently he's been doing a lot of formatting, but that was within the last 2-3 days, not a week ago. He also says he didn't do anything to it (which is highly dubious).
The restore point before that was at 10:57:35 AM, a System Checkpoint (I must find out what that is, by the way).
If I do restore, which one should I restore to?
[edit] right, a system restore point is a scheduled restore point automatically created by my computer. I guess that sounds ok
[edit2] ****, I wish I had some booze right now, to make this decision easier

Good news everyone!
I did the system restore, and it seems to be working again without any major problems. It is running slower then usual, but I read somewhere else that "Windows XP KB909394" might be a system update, so that's probably happening right now or something, because I restored to the one before that.
Hooray!

I didn't have to do that! Hooray!
Sorry. But yeah good work.

Yep, those are windows updates.
Glad to hear it's working again.
Restore points are one of the few things I think MS did right.

physical memory
Physical memory dump complete.
Contact your system administrator or technical support group for further assistance.
I tried again a few times and same story.
I'm in safe mode now, which works fine, and I'm posting this from my pocket pc.
What the **** do I do now?
Can anyone find any info for me? I would ask on a tech forum but finding one and registering and shit is too difficult on this ppc

Sounds like a virus, but that's all I can guess. Do you indeed have adequate disk space?
Maybe try these:

Yeah, I saw those articles, but none of them are the same as the error message I'm getting.
I managed to connect to the internet in safe mode, so I posted a thread here
