microsoft word halp

ya so i just installed microsoft office 2003 and i think my comp is missing something cause it wants to print and save it as files called "microsoft document imaging format"

and i cant change it...

Then you need to add a printer. Goto control panel and find the printer section. Click "Add Printer" and follow the wizard.

Once you have successfully added the printer, it should show up under the Print options.

I don't completely understand the problem though, are you saying that when you try and save it goes to MDI by default?

If that's the problem, go to tools>options>save(tab), there's a box that says "Save Word Files as", just change it to Word Document.

That would be counter-intuitive. You're assuming he's relying on people to detect sarcasm in his plain-text post based soley on mildly changing writing habits, and conclude that he still needs help and was only being ironic?

No, he's saying that when he goes to print, his only option is to save the file as a "microsoft document imaging format". This is the option Word offers when it doesn't have any printers to print to. Hence why I suggested he adds one, assuming he never set it up properly.
