I was wondering if I was the only one who can see a clear line where people just "dont get it" and people that seem to know the important things in life.

To dumb this down alot:
1. MTV watching, involved in friend drama all the time, big ego regardless of "social status".
2. Humble, hobbies, mostly kind, intelligent *not the same as book smart*

This looks like a specific description of an individual but at least in high school, you can quite easily split people up like this. Some people are "two-faced" and will switch over back and forth between each, depending on who they are with.

It seems like the #2 person just has a better grasp on the big picture of life, they just live it up and survive.

Is this just a transition in maturity teens go through? Or are some people just....better lol.

What is the purpose of dividing 6.7 billion people into two groups?

Because we can.

I've noticed something similar to psilo, except for me there are people who get 'it' and people who don't get 'it' and it's like the people who don't get it have some sort of block to keep them from getting it.

Basically, it comes down to who's cool, and who's not.

really, all of school social status is just a huge charade. At the moment, only a few people other than me have realized how artificial the whole thing is. I usually just divide people who play into all that stupid shit and people who have enough mental capacity to think for themselves.

You undersestemate people too much. People will NEVER fit neatly into 2 groups unless there is a single defining characteristic by which you are dividing them, such as their genetalia or physical ability. There are ALWAYS grey areas. Even the stupid jocks who play football, buy every new madden, only date cheerleaders, and get by in their classes with their grades just barely enough to allow them to stay on the football team. They aren't all the same: some may enjoy poetry, some may like Darren Aronofsky films, and some may prefer ICO and Half-Life 2 over God of War and Halo 3.

Get your head out of your asses and watch The Breakfast Club or something.

Yea its annoying how people get into those groups, my parents put me in one those schools where its all high class people who've been fed with a golden spoon, ive benn through poverty, i wasnt the normal middle class kid, 7 years ago, so yea ive been taught to be grateful and think for myself and think about my future more than my friends or status among people

What the people in the groups say:

Why would i need to think for myself, when i have people around to think for me, it just makes things easier

I divide people into , who can think for himself, and doesnt care about social status, and those who are all about social status and cant think about shit for themsleves

psilo you seem way to think really highly of yourself.

what makes you ANY better than your average mtv watching teenager?
absolutely nothing.

if if makes you feel better to convince yourself that these people are inferior to you, then you are just as weak as them.. if not weaker.

I really don't think I'm anything special.

But it IS simple enough to split people like that. Some people think for themselves and some don't. Maybe my area is the only one.

Grey areas are there, but they aren't very prominent. Yeah the "follower" type people very well may have their own unique personalities, but in reality the people I am talking about simply WON'T show it to anyone, I think it is really sad how many people I don't KNOW because they won't show it, I might really click with them even.

Ash chill out dude this is just a thing I was curious about, I didn't state anything as fact.

And what makes me better than the people who just refuse to let out their true selfs? Nothing, I didn't say I was better, the last comment was obviously satrical.

I think you should consider the possibility that the people you divide so easily into designated groups are being who they truly are.

its hard to believe that 20 people in a said group have the exact same personality.
