My computer runs like shit, I know being old doesn't help it, but seriously it should be able to run Mozilla without lagging.

I desperately delete programs from my program files, for what? It still runs just as slowly as before and it keeps bringing up a stupid clear disk space reminder.

It is a windows XP.

If anyone has any "useful" tips to speeding it up that would be much appreciated.

Just try the basics: defrag and disk cleanup. You could also try downloading a program like CCleaner to delete extra files that you don't need.

I can't help you much more than that, but if you do all three you should notice some change in your speed.

CCleaner, Jk Defrag, and delete anything useless.
Apart from that temporary solution, you'll eventually have to get a new PC.

Go to Ctrl+Alt+Del

You can end processes here, most are useless and are just a program that you ran before running in the background like Daemon tools. So Ctrl+Alt+Del and one of the biggest space wasters is a process called "explorer.exe" as you can see, it uses quite a bit of memory so end it and everything should seem faster.

Yah thanks guys, I will hopefully be getting a new computer within in the upcoming months, but I can't go get one at the moment so I need a Temporary Fix.

I'll see how this works.

Go "Start>Acessories>Startup" delete anything that seems useless there.
I think that's the right path for Win XP

I noticed when I went to defragment I am using 36.02 GB
and only 1.02 GB is free.

So that isn't normal im guessing.

Also I can't even defragment because i only have 2% free and I need 15% to do it.

Some people need explorer....

Dude, that sucks. Not even able to disc defragment, thats horrible. I have vista, so it lags naturally :D I'm used to it.
