Yeah, some schools do that. The school I went to for freshman and sophomore year had the schedule like this:
Monday and Thursday = 1st, 3rd, and 5th periods
Tuesday and Friday = 2nd, 4th, and 6th periods
Wednesday = All periods
Monday and Thursday = 1st, 3rd, and 5th periods
Tuesday and Friday = 2nd, 4th, and 6th periods
Wednesday = All periods

My schedules changed during the week only in Junior High. Now, it's all the same except when I have lab instead of PE.

1st Period: Creative Cooking (sometimes fun, teacher is a bitch, all she does is talk and talk and talk, one time she started talking about ****ing batteries)
2nd Period: LA (teacher is cool. Old and nice)
3d Period: Guitar (fag)
4th Period: U.S. History (teacher is cool)
5th Period: Math (teacher is awesome, has Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and ACDC posters all over the class)
6th Period: Science (boring)

I got a 4 days schedual.
Only difference between: (1,3) (2,4) is the two last periods switch periodicly.
My fave day is day 2
Day deux:
Art (I think the teacher is picking on me, in one class, I never raised my hand once, yet she picked me three times, and other kids not even once)
Civics/Careers (We made tall straw buildings)
Lunch ( Fewd )
French ( UGh)
English ( Hot girls, and english is a good recovery from french)
Only difference between: (1,3) (2,4) is the two last periods switch periodicly.
