No, he's Kanye.

And Houston, I don't see what's so wrong about having Kanye as an idol. But quite frankly, I like him more as a producer than an emcee. Granted he had some good verses in when he guest starred in songs like some of Common's work, but in most of his solo stuff, he's quite a mediocre rapper. He should probably just stick to producing. The beats for Stronger and Good Life were fantastic.

He still has some lyrical and MC skill, though. If you heard his songs like "Home", "This Way (Well, on a Dilated Peoples song) or "Hey Mama", he really has some skill. Those are some of my favourite songs, I would put them on my top 100 list of favs, I am glad Kanye is a rapper. Even WITH that big head.

He's not even tolerable as an Emcee. His production skills are okay for the genre.

Well he never claimed being an Emcee. We just claimed he was.I think thats why we don't like him.He actually claims a "New genre" called "2 step".Hip-Hop mixed with dance music. If you haven't noticed all his songs are dance songs.

Ever thought about that?

Yeah, he has some songs I like. His emcee skills aren't bad. I just appreciate him more as a producer, because many of the beats he's produced are some of the most original and enjoyable beats in hip-hop.

There have been hip-hop songs out that talk about dancing long before Soulja Boy's shit was even made. He's just trying to act like he's original and shit. Just because a hip-hop song talks about dancing, it doens't mean it's an entirely different genre. If that were true, Doug E. Fresh (in all his originallity and revolutionary songs) would've claimed this so called "2-Step" genre long before Soulja Boy was even born.

Yeah, I enjoy him as a producer more, but I won't discredit his emceeing. I at least respect him for not being the average MC these days (Real teeth, normal clothes, speaks clearly with real vocabulary.) I think Kanye's production lays heavily on sampling old songs.

And Soulja Boy, I can't even classify as Hip Hop. He's some sort of snap music guy who talks on a mic, and relies on fame and image.
