Debate about your idea of who the most influencial guitarist is.
I believe Eddie Van Halen is up their. Before Eddie, noone sounded like him. After Eddie, almost everyone has "tapped" into his style... Any comments?

Brian May or Jimmy Page . Wouldn't agree with Van Halen as that was a common shred style
Brian May : Built his own guitar and played with old currency
Jimmy Page : Played Guitar for one of the best bands in the world

No way, Eddie used the Pick of Destiny to create that rhythm.
He plays well tough.

Quote from TrashBLAM!Jimi Hendrix, without a doubt.
The reason I don't think jimi is the Most influential is the way he plays is not usually played... He plays his guitar left handed with the strings reversed... And you can't pickup his style because you would have to reteach yourself how to play... Understand, mate?

I understand, but that doesn't apply if you just start playing and want to play like Jimi. You could start playing left handed, and it wouldn't be a big deal.
But I agree that most people find it to difficult, and just stick the right handed playing.
I myself don't play guitar at all, but I play bass. And if I wanted to play left handed, It would be more difficult to learn, then when I learned to play it regular.
I just feel that Jimi, has done more for the general musical scene, qua style and qua sound. Even though they don't play the same way as him, they DO try to copy his style. And rarly succeed. I mean, look at Kravitz for christ sake.

Jimi has his own style yes, but I think that the beginning of them all was from Eddie and forwards.

I don't think Syn Gates is that influential at all. He's a great guitarist, one of my faves, but I just don't see how he's influenced music all that much.
I see him as a personal influence, but as a world wide music revolutionary, no.
Jimi Hendrix is amazing. Jimmy Page, bleh. Brian May, bleh. EVH, definately.

Sorta the thing I was meening.
Syn is good, but he's nowhere as influential as eddie van halen... Eric Clapton needs some credit. Without him, eddie would be non-existent. Eddie practiced a lot off of cream and improved and improved. That's how he became eddie
