For me love is a state of mind. If I don't think about it I'm fine. But if I think what I've been doing lately..

It's a state of mind, in my opinion.

Think of it like pain. If we fall off our bike, we know we're going to have cuts or something, so we feel the pain due to wanting to find it. Then, you have that cut you don't notice and it begins to sting once you do finally notice it.
Because you know it's there, you feel it.

Most of what people feel is affection and creating a bond. If you think of somebody in a way "Oh.. She's great. Everything I need in my life." you tend to think you love her. When, in most cases it's just the idea of having said person and having this feeling for them. It seems exciting, yet, eventually you get bored and move on.

LakE is the type of person who has all the girlfriends he wants, but they leave after a day due to his uncanny ability to see love in this way.

I'm the type of person who is hated for being honest in relationships. When I start to feel it get boring, I end it and move on. After that, I seem to be hated.

If you ask me, it's better than lying.

I see love as... a human necessity, the need to have someone always on your side at good or bad.

I think it is more of a feeling. The feeling that you would do anything for someone. You lose all sense of yourself, and you can only think about what would make the other person happy.

Love and all other emotions, are just made up by humans around the time we learnt to speak and feel ashamed. As we all have lust, but thought it was so bad, we just invented emotions, such as Love, that would make lust (and other stuff) a good thing.

Love exists in many species... as a first example take primates. As a second example take other mammals. You can observe that from the tendency of animals to protect their family. In conclusion, love was not made up, imagined by humans and there only exists lust.

Protecting the family has nothing to do with love. It's still instinct, as those kind of animals usually live in groups and need eachother to survive.

The idea is either to define love as a state of mind, or a feeling.
You haven't put any information to aid either sides. From what you're saying, love is just protecting?

I see that love is formed by bond. If you believe in love at first sight, you're obviously feeling lust. The feeling that makes you want that person as there is nothing for you to love apart from what you have found out in that short amount of time. You're just attracted to said person.
Because we've all been taught that lust is wrong, we call it love. Many of us actually believe that is what it is.
Most people, who are worth living, do actually "love" their family. That's down to bond. Because of that bond we've grown to know these people more than anybody. This isn't a feeling, wanting to protect, wanting to make sure all is well. It's just how we've been taught. It's just there. As stated, it's instinct. It's what we think is right and it's in us to protect those we have grown to know well.
Animals are known to kill their own. Animals have sex to reproduce. We do it out of lust, for pleasure. It's not "love".

Love is just a word. It's thrown about too often to have a meaning. Look at the opposite of love; Hate. Hate is not liking something a whole bunch. Why do we not like things? Because it's something to us we think is wrong. You don't feel wrong, you know of wrong because your mind says it's wrong and we have been taught what is right and wrong so it makes us then have guilt etc.
Look:
I see lust on the same lines as loathing. It's a stronger form of love and hate, if you ask me. It's the feeling you get, not the thoughts you have.


The day somebody tells me exactly how love FEELS I will admit that love is an emotion and something we don't just want. You meet somebody you like and THINK "She is perfect. I love her".
You feel that after thinking it. Why else do we debate on how we feel for somebody? Because we don't feel it.
I must admit I'm finding this difficult to explain and I think that I'm repeating myself. I hope sense can be made from this.

I know allot of people will call this bull because its from the bible. But this IS true and I believe this.
