Today in Geography we were watching a video on the Tsunami. There were dead babies with cracked skulls, and mutated bodies, and there are some real bad people in our class (smoke, skeive etc). However, even those people seemed somewhat...saddened by this video. I was the only one in the room that was laughing. There was this woman wailing like a war siren for her children for about 2 minutes, and everyone was looking really sad or disgusted. I, however, burst out into laughter. I also find videos off sites like nothing toxic etc funny. I don't go looking for this stuff, but when I do see it, I usually find it funny. I would say that I'm desensitised because of the TV and internet. But being desensitised to dead people including babies is one thing, laughing at it is another thing altogether?

Anyone else like this? What's wrong with me?

Yeah I don't usually find really bad stuff funny like animals dying, or babies in fact. But I just don't care about them, and other things like normal people dying tickles me a bit. It was the siren wailing that set me off today though.

Maybe you'd be less...whatever you are if you try and put yourself in their eyes.

Well not really. I know I'd be like that if it happened to me, but it hasn't...so...y'know...

I know lol. It's not like I'm sick or anyhting. It wasn't too bad today because it looked like I was crying I was laughing so hard. People were like "you OK dude?" but when I answered they realised I was laughing. A couple others laughed when the woman started making a war siren noise, but nowhere near as much as me, and only at that.

I also wank to 2girls1cup and eat while watching the pain olympics as if it's a show. No...not really...

I'll laugh at things like harlequin babies. Because it's not a problem of mine, why can't I laugh at it?

It just shines a brighter light on things.
That is coloured red and laughing in it's face.

Remember, laughs are infectious, if you laugh at a dying child then 100 people will laugh by your side.

It's probably a safety mechanism. You realize it's a terrible, uncontrollable thing and since you've never had to deal with anything like it before, you don't have a normal conditioned response. Rather, you equate it to jokes or comedy routines/movies/cartoons you've seen in which horrible things happen to people and you're supposed to laugh about it. So you laugh when society says you shouldn't. It's not too uncommon.

yeah but it doesn't feel that way. I actually found it funny. Like really funny, the bit with the crying woman anyway.

Was the cry sort of like that?
The first part, with the pie and wailing men.

Yeah but more high pitched and there was a much more definite change in tone going from high to low like a siren.
