ive been animating for a couple of months now (inspiration from stickfire, xaio xaio etc.) and believe it or not, i just found this website...lol...

(no need to tell me about the physics or resizing...im totally aware of that...)

It is chooppy, and has a lot of resizing...maybe try a easing test with a ball!
but nice try with explosions!

i think the resizing was teh camera zooming out
