Nice try. I like the way you are going for a sketchy style with those brushes.
Maybe try a SOLID or GRADIENT background. This can help bring out the subject of the picture. In this case, the subject is your pokemon.

One You have done that, proceed to making the subject fit in, yet is still the main subject, and is very eyecatchy.
I do not mean to brag, but having things blend in more, also compliments the background, and other work such as brushing. It helps people see the overall quality of the artists work.

P.S. I am glad you are trying to blend those renders in. To have them with similar colours, like the mudkip and blue, also helps.
I do not wish to think that i am bragging, or picking on you, but i wish to show you an example.

Example:

http://i36.tinypic.com/157nrc6.png
http://i37.tinypic.com/2wf6ykk.png

You will be able to see in these pictures that the renders are of similar colour, shape, and have been placed where they will stand out most. Example, the center. Doing this points towards the subject and will allow people to see that first, then look around it. This helps with quality. You may then finish with a border, which finishes things off.
I again hope you do not see me as bragging, boasting, picking on you are trying to mentally undress you. If you do, get over it.

I hope you liked that C&C

Thx for the comments everyone.

Kof, thanks for you're CC, I will try using gradients, unfortunately, there's no specific gradient tool in Corel, But I may get PS CS3 soon.

I am using brushes and other effects, I'm mostly using frames to blend in the main object. The splatters in the backround are obviously brushes.

Again, thx for the comments, and DragonKof for the helpful CC :D
