Easing is good enough yes, try to zoom in more when you animate... like 300% maybe? and use onion skin carefully. Take your time while you animate, and if it's just a little tiny bit off, control+z the hell out of it and redraw it til it's perfect. That should make your stuff smoother and less wobbly.

Think you need to study physics a little more too, but you can work on that later.

if it helps you, draw each ligament separately to help out on the wobbles. and there is nothing wrong with curved joints, I used them once in pivot.
