i was looking at it so you could catch what kind of lighting quality and stuff my comp can handle. well, i deleted the half-life 2 demo. (how the heck can steam delete stuff so fast?) anyways, now i have 6 gig left.

And you're telling us this because...?

Firstly, if your computer is running a blank wall on HL2, that doesn't mean a thing. My NVIDIA GeForce MX 4000 can run HL2 at full frames when there are no enemies on-screen and I am on bottom specs with no anti-aliasing on also. No big deal.
Secondly, post your specs, if you know how.

the amount of space on your hdd barely makes a difference in speed. halflife2 isnt really a game that shows off how awesome your computer is.
run crysis and get back to us.

I can run HL2 on full graphics with up to 400 enemies at onscreen at one time.
Suck it.

Everything that has actually worked on my even crappier computer works suprisingly well. Even Flight Simulator hasn't lagged a bit.
And guess what? I use Vista!
Still, I don't think anyone cares.

Steam doesn't actually delete stuff when you remove local content.
You'll have to either uninstall it from "Add or Remove programs" or do it manually.
I had atleast 5 gigs of crap I thought was deleted hiding in Steam.
