What if they realized we had though and feelings? I really doubt they would allow it to be on the market once they knew this. They would probably hire the government to keep us alive.

Very stupid assumption to make, I think. I doubt we'll have the technology and/or resources in 5 thousand years to make a computer that powerful, much less 50. And if anyone does run a simulation like that, how long do you think they'd monitor it? Don't you think it'd feel a little weird to be one of the programs? There's no possible way for someone to program memories into so many minds and get them all to act correctly, unless he made another program fit it all in, but that outside program would have to be equally, if not more complex than the simulation program. It's highly unlikely, as far as I'm concerned.
