Is a huge dissapointment
I saw some of the issues in the videos, but I just disregarded it because it still looked fun.
Sometimes it takes 8 shotgun shots to kill an enemy, point blank, and yet theres times where I can snipe a guy miles away with just a pistol and one bullet. True story. In fact, multiple true stories.
Travelling gets boring after a while, since you're only pressing down W or holding the joystick forward for several minutes after every little battle.
Weapons and armor decay at an extremely rapid rate, even with the proper skills to help lengthen their lifespan. I haven't found a way to repair my own equipment aside from hiring someone else to do it, so I'm sure once I do, this won't be that big of a problem.
Aiming is terrible. Its not something easily explainable, you just have to play it to feel what I'm talking about. It doesn't matter what the sensitivity is, the aiming just feels awkward, making you rely on VATS. But if you don't put any skill points into vats to make your action points higher, you'll run out rather quickly.
Some of the weapons just seem pathetic. The laser pistol comes to mind. As does the magnum. Yes, the magnum is a poor weapon with low damage, with your starting pistol having better stats than it. All weapons also lack punch, meaning if you shoot a guy, he'll just stand there as if nothing happened. Think like shooting the Terminator as he's walking towards you. Nothings gonna stop him.
The main quest is interesting, and it's only getting better. Sidequests are also pretty good, though fetch quests get tedious at times. The fact you have to be good at certain weapons in order to use them to their fullest is also nice, like if you don't have skill in small arms it can take you several seconds longer to reload, but its annoying there's so many weapon classes (Small, Big, Energy, Melee, and Unarmed)
Still holding out for this game. It needs to get better, and fast, otherwise it's a one-time-through game for me.
