I wouldn't say you can't animate, I'd just say your stuck here with the rest of us. The punch at the start and kick at the end seemed fairly good, but I'm not exactly sure what that was between them. dropping the heel into the guy maybe?

before I actually start using it, here's a recoil and gun effects test. looks good to me, but I made it, so I'm not the best one to make that call. c&c?

Due to recoil, the gun should not only move upwards, but toward the stick too. It should go quickly to a point, hold there for a moment, then come back.

I'll slow the framerate down. I had actually done that, but it might be too fast to see.

First i would suggest you work on your sticks, as the head is like gigantic and the limbs are frail toothpicks. Look around at various animators style and build your own style off your preferences.

As for the actual recoil, its incredibly choppy. make sure you are using onion skin, and take the time to make enough frames for it to look smooooth. if it doesnt look right, dont just go with it, fix it.

b0mb yea the middle part idk what happened it was supposed to be a kick but it turned into a sort of jump and yea.
Anymore C&C would be nice.

b0mb the recoil should also affect the back and his arm more the other arm since it's holding the gun too(I'm assuming not sure if his holding it or not)it should move back too.

Yup oh and the fire coming out of the gun should move with the gun not just stay in the air since it's coming from the gun.

yea the gunfire needs a little work but overall for a first attempt its pretty good

haha he actually had it right before... it just stays there too long. The flash should really only be one frame, maybe with a second frame of alpha 50%, but dont even bother with smoke unless its like an 1800's cannon. theres a tutorial somewhere on flashes. The way it is in the animation is... its pretty far from how it should be, but don't worry about that yet.

alrighty, thanks. Think I have it enough to actually use it, or should I run more tests?

Oh well I always thought the the fire move with the gun but yeah you're right about the time that it takes to dissapaer it should be shorter.
