The myth everyone was discussing was whether or not weed is addictive and whether or not it causes brain damage.

One of my friends did a 5 page research paper on this that I got to review for him. Heres what I know on the subject

Marijuana has more toxic substances that tobacco but is less deadly.

Marijuana helps deal with pain (physical or emotional) as an escape in a similar way to alcohol or cigarettes by stimulating the THC receptors in your brain.

Marijuana does NOT make you dumber or kill large amounts brain cells, a shot glass of light beer kills more brain cells than marijuana does. Rather it is the pot smoker lifestyle not the pot smoking itself. I personally know a pot smoker who is a rather intelligent person, he is number 3 in the class.

Marijuana has more uses than smoking to get high, you can make cloth better than you could with conventional methods, you can make paper using less plants/trees than normal because the male Marijuana plant has a high amount of fibers. (not the kind you eat). And it can even be used to create fuel for cars BETTER THAN ETHENAL MADE FROM CORN

Alcohol and Smoking does far more damage than smoking pot does.

HOWEVER that doesn't mean that smoking doesn't do ANY harm. it just means it does less than already legal addictive substances.

I'm for decriminalizing marijuana and I am proud to say that I AM NOT POT SMOKER. The benefits outweigh the potential gains in my opinion...

The main reason that weed was made illegal was because the US government wanted a reason to jail and remove the Mexican migrants, and seeing as the majority of them had marijuana plants, it was made the scapegoat.

Meh, I figured, but I wasn't to sure, I have been reading to much conspiracy theories about how racism will destroy the world lawl.

They would rather deport them, then to jail them Steyene. I don't believe you at all...

Steyene's theory doesn't make sense because a legal migrant would never be deported for marijuana charges.
It'd just send these migrants into jail, where the US government would end up paying for a mexican's 3 square meals a day, when they supposedly wanted mexicans out of the country.
