To create a stick with a black head, you need to edit it in the .stk creator. All you need to do is select the head and increase the line thickness until it is completely filled. If the head is too big, then decrease its size by entering 'edit mode' and making it smaller.

There are a couple great tutorials. They will help you with many aspects of animation.
For smoothness i recommend using a higher frame rate and more frames. Also you need easing. You can learn about these things in the above tutorials.

trail is good, but theres too much of it for such a slow kick. the length of the trail should depend on the speed of the movement. and i absolutely <3 the little hop in there, made me lol. you are developing a nice style, keep it up :D
