(note: I was writing this to another person in a PM, so it is referring to that person.)
Ok, I'm back. I'm only a beginner, but I guess I can help you. It took me a while to figure things out, so I spent a few hours just messing with Easytoons to see how I can make things look better. Anyway, here is the help you requested, plus some more help you might need:
How to keep inanimate objects still (I used Easytoons 1.9.9 BETA 2 version, downloadable at flat2d.com):
1. The only thing you need to do is copy the frame memory, which is done with the bottom of the Easytoons program. Click the Red arrow coming down from the box icon (it says mem on the bottom) on the background/inanimate object you want.
2. After you have done that, you have to press the blue arrow coming up from the box (it also says mem) to paste your background. It does not delete what is already done on the frame.
3. Voila! you have successfully copied an unchanging background!
How to keep changing inanimate objects still:
1. Okay, this is going to be a bit difficult to explain, since I'm doing it from my memory. Anyway, you first copy the background.
2. Then, you draw the attack/thing doing the changing to the inanimate object without erasing anything.
3. Go to your next frame.
4. Using the blue Onion skin (the previous drawing that is in blue) erase/add on what the attack/thing does to your background. ONLY ERASE, DO NOT DRAW ANYTHING!
5. Go to your next frame.
6. Copy the back ground using the Copy mask button, located at the top of the Easytoons page. (it has a Shakespearean stage mask, with the bottom half blue,if that is what you call it. You can also press down arrow.)
7. Go back to the frame you have erased/added on.
8. Draw another attack/whatever.
9. Go the the next frame, erase/add on, etc etc etc, you get the picture.
10. Congrats! You have successfully created a minimal changing inanimate object!
*Hint: When drawing things (Ex. stick figures, attacks, swords, etc.) use the polyline (connected line icon at top of the page. You can also press F5). To stop a polyline, double click the mouse. (I had trouble with this, as I did not know it.)
*Hint: To change the frame rate, go to The tool bar at the top, "View", Then "Animation Properties" Just change the number less to change the frame rate higher.
*Hint: To extend the duration of one frame, go to duration, right below the tool bar. Change the number higher to make the duration longer. 100 is about half a second.
To other people: Feel free to ask questions or make additions to this "Walk through," if you call it that. Pictures and info from experienced Easytooners would be highly appreciated.

.....Well, now that you put it, I guess so. You need to know how to mask to do make an animation, right? And I had trouble with this when I first began, so I thought I would make a tutorial. Any criticisms would be accepted, and you can also post your style. (as well as MultiLockOn's style, since you have his .GIF file...)
Edit: With style, I mean frames per second, the transition of frames, and etc. This also Includes how to do effects in general, not a specific one.
